Title: I was wrong.
Post by: King of Twitch on February 02, 2017, 01:27:18 AM
Yep, you read that right. For the last 14 years of this forum, I have done nothing but moan and complain like a mewling infant that Nintendo has made poor business decisions that affect me on a personal and deep level. First, let me just say I'm sorry. Full stop. I know that it bothered a lot of people that I would take my decades of Nintenfrustration out on innocent people and derail perfectly good discussions with my temper tantrums. I'm sorry for the people that have left because of me or the negativity that I've spread. I wish those people could see me now, for I have decided to pick up a used Wii
aaaaand..
boy am I enjoying it. This whole "Wii Sports" thing is great! I love punching forward with the remote+nuncuk in the boxing game and seeing my friend's mii grimace when I make contact. Actually, not my friend; just my imagination. The truth is, I don't really have that many friends. I live in Canada where it's hard to meet people because it snows 365 days a year and you rarely want to risk going out and catching "polar bear rape." I mostly stick to the one-player games, especially Wii Sports golf. I like swinging my arm like it's holding a golf club and smacking the ball to nowhere in particular. I never care about winning, just seeing the ball sail over the trees and hearing the rustling of the leaves as it goes by. It reminds me of my childhood when my family would go out into the woods (aka, my backyard; everything is in the woods in Canada) and get away from the city for awhile. We would roast canadian bacon and play pond hockey. Dad was always goalie but he'd let me score. Mom always jibed at him for letting a kid beat him. Actually, that's just how I wished it happened. My parents divorced when I was, well, about the time the N64 came out. My dad never got over the divorce. He shot himself with a shotgun. Shoot man, this thing is bringing back terrible memories. Call the doctor someone he's hurt. Dad? Wake up! DAD? No wonder I ball up every time I read the word cartridge. It reminds me of when I saw him lying facedown in the snow, with one shiny cartridge peeking through the tundra. Mom remarried the day before the Gamecube launched. Anyways have you heard of Let's Tap for Wii? F-in brilliant, man. You just set the remote down and tap your finger on the the table to make your character jump. It's an auto-scroller platformer that let's you control in a totally unique way. That's why the Nintendo Wii has suddenly become my favorite console--so many great new ideas and the feeling it gives you when you can use motion controls to mimic real life stuff and give your arms as good of a workout as your imagination ;) Anyways, sorry again that I was such a downer. Lesson learned! --Ian Sane

Ok. There's some laugh's to be had in there but keep in mind Ian Sane didn't ask to be switched so I don't want this to be misconstrued as something that was done to pick on him. It's funny enough just seeing "Ian" making positive comments in Talkback. So, I'm moving this thread here since it's more of a Funhouse thread anyways.
But I do want to take a moment to preach a bit of caution. The Maxi post works because it is the opposite of Maxi's personality but it isn't done at being cruel at his expense. Likewise, despite the aggravation Ian Sane can sometimes cause, he's never been cruel to anyone.

Kind of funny but kind of cruel. Because it's Ding-dong, I know he can elevate his game and not resort to semi-personal digs. For all who have been switched, this isn't meant as a free opportunity to perform a character assassination and there is the potential to offend someone if you aren't careful with how you post as them but I trust everyone I've switched with to know how to handle that responsibility. That said, preaching a bit of caution is never a bad thing on such matters so please take it to heart so as not to spoil this from potentially happening again someday.

All i've learned from this experience is that consent isn't required.

Because your profile information must have been saved on my work computer. You're back to normal.

Now that should put everyone back to normal.
Not that it matters since The Khushrenada Virus is going to be released in about half an hour but at least for a moment people can get their bearings again.
