Mass Effect is the only one that makes sense to me. March release date, whereas Titanfall is lagging in sales and both it and Battlefield is too much entrenched in their online multiplayer modes where the portability of the system would neuter one of their main features.

I'm assuming it'll be one of their sports games or something, but Mass Effect: Andromeda would be really cool. I've never played a game in the series and if it ends up being a launch title, I'd likely pick it up (especially in light of other open world game related news in the past 24 hours).

I would imagine it might be Fifa. I'd love for something like a Star Wars game or (not related to this news as it's not big) Plants vs. Zombies: GW 2!

Blake Jorgensen didn't say launch and without a timeline, this could be just about anything. It could be FIFA due to its popularity. EA has released FIFA around September/October for like the past decade so releasing a game within six months of Switch's launch isn't a bad goal. Ideally, any third parties committing to Switch support should be aiming for something new and something soon after if not at launch.
Otherwise, it could be Star Wars Battlefront 2 though that probably won't release until November 2017. Despite what the developers say about current plans, Mass Effect: Andromeda makes the most sense as a launch window title granted its development stays on schedule.
Personally, I just want a new NBA Jam, but I'm just being selfish.

Mass Effect is too far along in development to have a sudden and easy port to Switch. This is what several developers have confirmed- games that are releasing before or around the Switch launch have been developed and optimized for specific systems and another version is unlikely.
I imagine it will be one of EA's shitty sports games.

It's FIFA or Madden, and they very well could be ports of the legacy PS360 versions.
If you think it's going to be any game other than FIFA or Madden you're going to have a bad time.

I'd certainly like to have FIFA on Switch, but not if it's a legacy port. I'm probably going to want to start a new career mode in March anyway to get Atlanta and Minnesota in there.

I don't see how it won't be Madden NFL. They even tried one for 3DS launch.

The three most likely things (in my opinion) are FIFA, Star Wars and Madden in that order.

EA promising support at the launch of a Nintendo console? I'd say that's precedented.

or maybe Risky Woods?

You figure it would be something like Madden because wouldn't the NFL want their game on every platform imaginable? What would the NFL gain by "boycotting" Nintendo? Same with FIFA and any other licensed sports game.
Mass Effect Andromeda is likely going to be the game to get me to jump to the next gen as playing through the Mass Effect Trilogy was one of the best gaming experiences I had last gen. I have it for the PS3 and that probably justified the console purchase by itself (don't have a 360). So if it was on the Switch then that would be fantastic. But there is one little hiccup - presumably there is going to be a series of these games over this gen where the saves will carry over like the original trilogy did. So that only works if I'm confident that the Switch will get all of those games. If the game or the system doesn't sell that well that may prevent the sequel from showing up and that would compromise the experience. But I KNOW the PS4 is here to stay and that any sequels will show up on that platform. So it's kind of a catch 22. A Switch version needs to sell well enough for EA to release its sequels on the Switch but the uncertainty of that result makes it a riskier purchase than the other versions and that itself may hurt the Switch version's sales.
I hope if EA releases a good game that the initial Switch userbase actually gives it a shot. I worry that multiple generations of weak third party support have trained a significant portion of the Nintendo fanbase to not only not need third party games but not really care about them. And the early adopters will be the most Nintendo-centric fans, the ones that are not at all cautious after the Wii U. So I hope they don't ignore good third party games. But with EA you never know if they're even going to release a good game and like most companies they're not good at taking ownership of their failures. Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U was essentially rigged to fail. Madden has sucked since it got the exclusive NFL license and Nintendo gamers rejected it would only demonstrate that they have good taste. And EA going overboard with microtransactions could sabotage things too.

Token Fifa, Token Madden. Another port of Mass Effect 3
But seriously, I wouldn't mind Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare.

Unless EA publishes another TimeSplitters game, I can't think of anything they have that would interest me.

As someone who would love a sequel or spiritual successor, this post saddens me. :(
Soz y'all. For what it's worth, the multiplayer of it definitely doesn't hold up, and the music/sounds were always pretty terrible on it...
On a serious note, if EA aren't talking about any of their big sports games (which a system really needs btw), then I kinda hope this might be them talking about Fe. It was shown at E3 this year so might be too far in already, but a stylish 3D platformer that looks somewhat family friendly could sell gangbusters on a Nintendo system.

I think you might be disappointed by Mass Effect then. It is not an open world game. It is a fairly linear sci-fi action RPG that features some decision making but it is a very strict story that you can't deviate from much, it's not what I think of when people say open-world. You're thinking of Watch Dogs, GTA, right? Those are entirely different experiences or maybe I am confusing the terms people keep changing what they call games so I am not hip to the modern slang.

best description of why I didn't like Mass Effect. I was playing it and I was thinking "this **** was hyped?"

I know the first three Mass Effect games don't have an open world, but Mass Effect: Andromeda is being billed as an open world game. I haven't been following the game's development and pre-release coverage super closely, so I'm not sure if there are signs pointing to the contrary, but based on the few things I have read that's one of the big changes they're pushing with this game.

I'm pretty sure Mass Effect Andromeda has at least one more delay on it, specially after EA said it would be willing to delay it again if needed.
