The NES Classic will only be up for launch day on Amazon, and the procedure will be familiar for rarer Nintendo products.

In an email sent to those who signed up for notifications, the company announced that orders will be taken for the small console beginning Friday, November 11 at 5pm Eastern / 2pm Pacific. Orders will be limited to 1 per person and 1-click ordering will be disabled.

Other retailers have also confirmed a first come, first serve for the console including GameStop/EB Games and Walmart.

I will most likely arrive at Best Buy when they open, then leave disappointed when everything sells out before I had the chance to get it.

I decided not to worry about it. I have a real NES somewhere that still works and I already own all the NES games I want on VC and they're under my Nintendo Network ID. No reason to put myself under any stress over this.

I'll try for Amazon since I have a good record of getting things like this when Amazon does this times sale thing. If not I'll mention it on my Christmas list and hope for a holiday surprise.

And from the 2 seconds I saw it available, it looked like they were charging $5 for shipping with no option for Prime shipping...don't think I've ever noticed them do that for an item sold directly from Amazon.

It would have been corrected after you ordered. The same thing happened for a number of the amiibo launches. Hoping Amazon saved the next batch and does a similar sale instead of just throwing them up whilly nilly.
