Title: Nintendo To Sell US$99 New 3DS This Holiday
Post by: Shaymin on November 07, 2016, 03:54:00 AM

Starting on the week after Pokémon.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/43632/nintendo-to-sell-us99-new-3ds-this-holiday

Nintendo is taking steps to ensure the New 3DS is a stocking stuffer this holiday season.

The smaller, faceplate-capable New 3DS will be sold standalone this holiday beginning on November 25 ("Black Friday") for a suggested retail price of US$99.99. No games or additional faceplates will be in the package, but two colors (matte black or white with Mario iconography on both) will be available.

Canada will receive the unit the same day for C$139.99.

That's an awesome deal. I was considering getting my kids a 2DS for Christmas, but it's hard to argue against spending an extra $20 to get the better console especially since the 2 games the 2DS comes with Yo-Kia Watch and Mario Kart 7 we already have.

Tempting! I've been waiting and watching for sales on New 3DS systems for a while, with no luck. Paying $200+tax (or $240+tax for the XL version) is simply more than I can justify right now.

Glad to see these are finally getting some more competitive pricing.

Very tempting, i'd love to replace my launch 3DS. I've wanted the New 3DS, but don't want the XL because it's too big for my pocket and the regular size one was only available in a bundle with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (a game I have no interest in).

Damn, I just bought a 32 gb SD card for my normal XL. This is extremely tempting though...

Crazy deal. I like my XL though.

This is very tempting. I've always been intrigued by the smaller form factor for the 3DS. Can someone who has done a system to system transfer walk me off the ledge please?

This is exactly what ive been waiting for. Finally being able to upgrade my launch 3ds without overpaying or buying into a bundle. Trip report from others who have done the transfer would be nice, im absolutely terrified of losing nearly 6 years of streetpass and save data.

NESmini and New3ds is going to make a much sweeter holiday than i was expecting out of Nintendo.

I hope they put a decent amount of these up for sale. Is it meant to be a one day deal?

It appears to be just for Black Friday. Maybe it will extend to the weekend, but it'll probably sell out right away so it won't matter.

I dearly hope you are wrong.
Nintendo doesn't stock anything in decent numbers, If this is a Black Friday-only deal, it might as well not exist for me.

Nine thousand, nine hundred US cents.

I don't think it's Black Friday only based on Nintendo's wording; "suggested retail price of $99.99" (so not a sale price) and "available starting Nov. 25" make it sound like you should be able to get it afterwards as well. It would make sense for them to roll with this as their New 3DS package for the entire holiday season. Given Nintendo's unpredictability when it comes to stock I'd still get it as soon as possible if you really want it though.
