Title: Would anyone be interested in doing a game night on either 3DS or Wii U?

I'm not thinking a weekly game night, as interest generally falls off after the first couple or few-- even on forums with hundreds of regular users. I just would like to have some online fun with some my friends here. Would anyone be interested for a night on the weekend? I have fall break next week, so that would be a perfect time to have some friendly competitive fun!

This weekend I might have the internet to do so, do you have Skype? That a perfect way to implement chat since Nintendo doesn't know how to use voice chat.

I'm game! I'll be "batching it up" this coming weekend when my wife is out of town so plenty of TV time uninterrupted for me.
I need to get back into Splatoon and I'll of course be playing Monster Hunter as well.

I've been toying with the idea of trying to start or have an NWR tournament of some kind each month but that's been on the backburner for sometime. Always other things to do and gaming time isn't always as available to me as it was years ago.
The idea Phi's putting forward is simple enough and sounds nice but I just don't know when I can meet up just to do something like that.

I'm up for some Splatoon, Smash 4, or Mario Kart 8! If it's this weekend it would have to be either Friday or Sunday evening for me because of the telethon, but generally speaking I think I could play on most weekend evenings as long as we're all given a little notice.

I'm always interested in online multiplayer, especially co-op games, but I'm soft-spoken so I never know how to try to ask people to play without feeling like I'm being a bother. I have a number of games from the past five years that I'd still be willing to play if anyone were interested.

We can aim for Saturday the 22nd, maybe? It seems like this weekend everyone already has plans, which there is of course nothing wrong with having a life! ;)
Why don't we all type up some games we'd be willing to play on both Wii U and 3DS, and then we'll select the games we'll play from there? Does that sound smart? (I not too smart, 'cuz it's taken me 12 years to do college, so I never sure!)

For Wii U I've got Splatoon, Smash 4, and Mario Kart 8 which I could pick up and play. For 3DS I've got Smash 4 and Monster Hunter Generations (I'm out of practice and probably wouldn't be very useful at the moment, but if everyone doesn't mind that I'm up for getting back into it now). Next Saturday should be good for me too.

Do those games support online battles for more than two people at a time? I honestly haven't used the online features in either game all that much so I'm not quite sure, but if they do, yeah, add both of those onto my list as well.

Sorry I was MIA, work was rather taxing due to the "extreme weather" in the Pacific Northwest and I had to work extra to monitor things. Turned out to be a bunch of nothing, but it still required extra time and I was just too tired to get on once I did get home.
I do hope we get more of these going in the future though.

Can't join this sat because of work, but would be down for another weekend sometime in the future?
I have Splatoon, Pokkén Tournament (awful at it tho) and Smash Bros Wii U. Also Assassin's Creed 4 which I thiiiiiiiiiiiiink miiiiiiight have online? That one's pretty much unplayed though so not sure.

Looking at the list of the four people who can/might be able to play this evening, all four have got Splatoon there, so would everyone be cool with that? It would give us enough people for a full squad and it would be relatively easy to get into. If there's gonna be multiple games, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Tri Force Heroes, and Smash 4 show up on at least three lists as well.

I won't be home until the evening, so don't make the decision based on me. Splatoon does sound like a game we can all get behind, but I might have to fight my wife for the TV or just go handheld.

It would be pretty neat if we could get a 4-squad going in Splatoon, those are always fun!
Since Tri Force Heroes is just three players, it would be a good thing to play as we wait for a fourth, or after a fourth person leaves.
Since these games don't really have communication in them, should we use NWR's chat? Anyone able to use it during play?

Unfortunately, I just woke up and am feeling a little depressed. :-\ If you guys wanted to play something without me, feel free. Else we can wait for another day or get more people as well. Maybe we can get the staff to do a game night post on the main site?

I'm thinking it'd be good to wait a weekend or so. Get a good amount of people involved.
As an aside, I can always play online Mario Kart 7 or something throughout the week too.

Thankfully it was just an evening occurrence. Never lasts the whole day. I'm back to my usual fun-loving self! :) Thanks, though, Fatty! I enjoy talking to NWR peeps via message anytime, so hit me up whenever! :D
Anyhow, would love to set up a big time NWR forum event for a game night-- just don't know how to get attention to it.

Most people are really busy this time of year, I would love too, but getting the word out is a problem, that's why I like steam you can invite people and set up chats same as Skype and you get notified of convo's going on.

Just doing my job. And I like doing my job. It's the only one where, the more I drink while doing it, people praise my performance instead of rolling their eyes at me, sending me to "rehab", or, in one case, blackmailing me to help them cover up a murder they committed. Needed to do a lot more drinking on the job after that last one.

I can probably play on Saturday again. Also, if anyone wants to jump on a two or three player game like Smash 4 Wii U/3DS, Splatoon, Monster Hunter Generations, Tri Force Heroes, etc. for a short while late on weekday evenings, I could probably pull that off some days as well.

I was hoping one more person would show up so we could play Tri Force Heroes. I haven't played any of the stuff included in the update and I'm pretty sure I didn't even finish the last world and a lot of the optional challenges, so there's still a lot of that game I wouldn't mind playing.

Last weekend was Halloween weekend so it wasn't good for me, but I should be good to go this time. Tri Force Heroes is one of my fave 3DS games, so I'd love to give it a go again!

I'm actually free most of the evening tonight if anyone wants to play. I need a breath from Breath of the Wild and would love to play something else.
Would especially like to get some Monster Hunting started in any version, as I've been away form that for a long time, and the bigger battles in BotW got me itching for more monster action.

We should definitely do something for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, if others are getting it. My brother and I have purposefully not been playing the Wii U original because of the upcoming Switch release.

I already wasn't playing it due to time constraints and a lack of local competitors to play with. So it will probably feel very fresh to me. I'm thinking I'll sell off my Wii U edition to a friend who is getting a used system soon.
