Build up your library with some inexpensive games

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/43148/new-north-american-nintendo-selects-bundles-announced

The Nintendo Selects line will be gaining some new members in North America, along with new hardware bundles.

Beginning on August 26, the following games will be reduced to US$19.99/C$29.99 both in stores and on the eShop where applicable:

August 26 will also see the release of a smaller New 3DS bundle with a preinstalled Super Mario 3D Land. The bundle will come with two faceplates, and will be sold for US$149.99 at Walmart and Target. The two faceplates will feature a Mario design and an 8-bit collage.

On September 9, three Wii U games will receive new amiibo bundles: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker with a bundled Toad, Mario Party 10 with Peach or Bowser (Mario series) or Yoshi's Woolly World with a blue or pink Yarn Yoshi amiibo. The new bundles will retail for US$39.99.

These all look like smart, sensible bundles.

So the non-XL *NEW*3DS is finally available in North America? Had this already been available for a while?

More selects! Awesome! More games to buy!

Then I read the article and realize I own them all already.

Not much for me (already own the games I want from those lists) but awesome to see LEGO City Undercover available again at a good price. Despite some obscene load times, that's ended up being one of my favorite Wii U titles to date.

They've been available for a while now - ever since Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer came out last year, I believe.

Finally, the price dropped for LEGO City Undercover!

It came out last fall, just as I predicted it would way back when the New XL launched... Well, not EXACTLY as I predicted since didn't come with an AC adapter like I thought it would, but I was dead on accurate with the timing.

For that price, I'll pick up Wind Waker.  I have the digital copy that came with my system but I am worried about someday not being able to redownload it.

I'll probably pick up WW at that price.  I may watch for it at Best Buy for the gamerclub 20% off or if Amazon does a preorder thing with it.

I've seen some people say that the Animal Crossing New 3DS bundles have become difficult to find, so it's good to see Nintendo releasing another (and more affordable) bundle. I would have gotten the Captain Toad bundle if it were $40 in Canada too, but I can't really justify paying $50 for that game, even if it comes with that nice Toad amiibo.

That's some high praise for Lego City.  For this price maybe I'll give it a try.

Same here.  I want the game... just not quite that much.

Not everyone liked it as much as I did - especially since they don't offer multiplayer in the game. And the loading times are truly horrible.

But playing like a family-friendly version of GTA is a nice touch, and the story was cuter than I expected from a non-licensed LEGO games. There are plenty of hidden jokes and Easter eggs to uncover, along with the usual bevy of LEGO collectible items that you'll have to search out.

One nice touch is that LEGO City Undercover actually uses the Wii U GamePad in somewhat interesting ways. I'm not sure it's ever "necessary", but it works pretty well and so few Wii U games (exclusive or otherwise) made that effort that it deserves bonus points for trying.

This kind of puts in perspective what's happening to Nintendo Land here: https://twitter.com/Meophist/status/763123137961598976

Still waiting to see if this is what will bring it back to the eShop, but I doubt it.

I can finally get a copy of Wind Waker, since I can't find it anywhere.

Also, is Lego City for the 3DS worth getting?

...

That's a depressing set of discounts for Canadians - so many games dropping by just $5, and of course Nintendo Land not dropping at all as the cherry on the sundae.

It's a real bummer to have our currency so weak right now.

Lots of draw distance issues, making LEGO City look more like Beijing with all the fog (or in the latter's case, smog). I enjoyed it as a complementary experience to the Wii U game. It was fun to find hidden collectibles and things of that nature within the various split-up zones of the city. Nice purchase for $20.

I'm going to save up so I can get the New 3DS. My 3DS XL's Circle Pad is messed up, as when you push it forward, the system acts as if you're still holding it forward, even after you let it go.

Does anyone know if the retailers listed for this New 3ds bundle are confirmed? Cuz I really want this bundle. I have been waiting for the smaller 3ds, and at this price it's amazing. I never wanted that stupid happy home designer bundle.

Lego City Undercover is one of the best Lego games!

...Hm, I guess that doesn't really say too much.

Lego City Undercover is one of the best games on the Wii U!

...Nope, that still isn't saying much.

But seriously, it's a great game in general. Can't go wrong for $20.
