Guess you had to be there in 2007. Now you'll never be able to see the most awesome thing in your lifetime.
Title: Re: If I died tomorrow...
Post by: pokepal148 on July 12, 2016, 01:51:57 PM
I'm running late for work and I can't find my stupid asthma pump so I leave it behind thinking "oh i'll be fine."

2 hours into work my chest starts to tighten and the longer the day goes on the more I can't breathe. I can't leave early and I'm feeling light headed from lack of oxygen. Maybe i'm bein' melodramatic, or maybe i'm must bored, but i can see myself dying later.

I have a small room but I have so much crap in it, and sometimes I wonder what will happen to all of it when i do pass. I have my NES, SNES, N64, GC, WII and DSL with tons of games/controllers/cables each, then theres my 3 guitars, amp and accessories, my ipod and computer (no one would want that peice of garbage though) and a butt-load of cds (and a handfull of dvds). whats gonna happen to all of it? If it were up to my mother she'd give everything to our family in Ecuador but i don't like that idea at all. They dont have the energy for all my electronic stuff, nor the taste for my music collection. Some of the other stuff she'd pawn off for real cheap and the thought of that pisses me off. If you're gonna sell my "treasures" at least get your moneys worth.
RIP Easy cute. You will be missed.

Dibs on the game collection.

If you died tomorrow then that means you are in the future and the past at the same time. EasyCure is a time traveler, confirmed.

Wow, having very little context for this part of the Rat saga you guys were kinda acting like a bunch of smug assholes.

Good to see nothing's changed.

I blame Insanolord and his racist ways

This is the real reason NOA sold the Mariners.
Title: Re: Posts Regarding The Randomly Stickied Threads
Post by: Khushrenada on July 16, 2016, 03:04:53 AM
Since Pokepal148 has felt the need to post in every stickied thread so far, it's keeping the topics from falling back to their original spot once unstickied. Therefore, I've decided to group all new posts in the stickied threads here to allow the threads to go back to their forum graves. I also didn't want to move these posts to Insanolord's Off-Topic Thread in my continued efforts to keep it from cracking the site's top ten thread rankings and because the comments were made in a thread on-topic.
Title: Re: Posts Inspired by the Randomly Stickied Threads

Luckily I can easily track down the original threads and add in quotes for context.
Title: Re: Posts Inspired by the Randomly Stickied Threads
Post by: Khushrenada on July 16, 2016, 03:18:21 AM
Go ahead. That's why I left the links to the threads in here as well. Just another way for people to catch up on what they might have missed or see the source of the post. Plus, you can keep commenting in the stickied threads if you want too since I don't have to worry about those threads staying bumped up by being able to move posts made into this thread.

It's kind of nice to know that 9 years ago, forum users felt the Funhouse was losing steam then too. I guess complaining about the Funhouse's popularity is a long time forum tradition.

Welp. We got us a doozy thread today. Thought about changing it to the next thread below it but that thread had someone call something gay and I thought bumping that thread might be even worse so penis curvature it is. On the plus side, the forum says we've got 40 guests visiting so I guess it's upping the traffic. On the downside, we've got 40 strangers leering in the forum.

Oh, happy days! One of my very own threads has finally been chosen as the Daily Blast from the Past. I forgot all about this which is surprising since..... it's such a winner.... like all my threads are.......

This whole initiative you've undertaken has made me think that maybe the Funhouse hasn't declined in quality over time and I'm just remembering it better in my mind.

Why do you think they're releasing the NES Mini.  They practically stole the idea from Khush.

It's not just Nintendo ripping me off. NWR is doing it also. Now they're bumping old reviews in Talkback and calling them "Vintage Reviews". Who knew the power vintage funhouse threads could have on the world?

Today's stickied thread ain't nothing great. Really thought about bumping something else but I was impressed enough by the sheer luck that the day Lucario comes back, a thread of his comes up as the day's chosen thread and he talks about a Waluigi avatar in it. So, based on that, I just went with the thread that was randomly selected and stuck to it for everyone else to marvel at the odds as well.

Now Mop it up is ripping off my posts! In the console forum under upcoming NX games, I posted this on the Project Sonic 2017 game:

Finally! The first solid reason to buy an NX console!

And today in the Talkback thread for this game's announcement, she posted:

The first killer app for the NX!

Look at the time stamps. I made this joke days ago! No wonder she has so many posts on this forum. She's just ripping off and repeating the posts of other members to boost her post count. For shame. I'd never make a redundant post! I make sure my posts have a reason to exist on this forum and are essential worthwhile reading.

I dunno. Your shtick of being an egotist on the forums is a little offputting now that you're a mod. Comes across as desperately seeking attention. :/

Oh, I see how it is. I get a little bit of money and power and now everyone starts looking at me differently. I'm still the same guy I've always been. Mr. Humble. A man who respects personal boundaries. Mod powers haven't changed me. If anything, they've only made me worse. You're the one who's changed, man!
Title: Re: Re: Now that's a guarantee you can trust!*

But really, I was just trying to keep the running joke of people ripping of my ideas going with my latest comment using Mop it up's post followed by the easy additional joke of making a useless post after claiming not to do so. I didn't think it would be taken as seeking attention but just trying to keep up some activity in this forum. Win some, lose some.
Title: Re: Re: Now that's a guarantee you can trust!*
Post by: Mop it up on July 25, 2016, 05:40:14 PM
Pfft, you're just too sacred to post your jokes in Talkback where people will actually see them.

Besides, it's a trite joke made about plenty of games in the past, so you just stole it from countless others anyway.

I more shocked that you are reading the Twilight books.
and already read upto the 4th one. I didn't even know there were 4 books.
That better not translate into 4 movies.

Oh and BTW, from what I seen of the Twilight movie, those are not vampires. they are something much more... um, how you say... pansy.

Don't worry. It translated into 5 movies!

By the way, which physical challenge did you do?

Kleever. One thing that can definitely help your time is saving after every level, that way if things go badly you can hit reset and try again.

I'm looking forward to doing Echoes as soon as Mop_It_Up and Stratos are done with this (I think they were planning on it..)

You know, I'm glad I came across this topic today. I've been seriously thinking about popping in my copy of Prime 2 and reclaiming my 100% save data on it after losing it years ago. It's been ages since I played it and having redone MP1 last year and just about finishing MP3's Hypermode, it's been on my mind for awhile to have at it once more. Maybe Zap and I should try for another MachoActive game time.

Title: Re: Re: It really bothers me that some people do not like Khushrenada

Oh, a bit has changed. Reading this old election gag situation was rather interesting. 9 years later, I'm still pulling off some of these same old stunts and using a "braggart" type personality for jokes on the Funhouse. But, I think I've been able to refine it better. Sometimes I was too overeager and came off as a bit of a little **** for lack of a better term. I'd like to think I reign that tendency in a bit more so that I don't turn something fun into something a bit sour and still keep my humor enjoyable for all.

Plus, it used to be that if I started something like the election thread, there were a lot more forumer's who'd jump in on the idea and cause it to blossom and spiral into some big funhouse antics. Look at the amount of threads that were created of other people suddenly running for office and how the conversation spilled all over into multiple threads. You don't see a lot of that anymore. Nowadays, stuff is pretty self-contained or might crossover into just one or two other threads. Closest we've come lately was all "the _ is officially no more" threads.

But I never stop dreaming and believing those type of shenanigans can happen here again. I just think the biggest thing needed is more young people here on the forums who have that extra time to engage in these things. This was 9 years ago when a lot of us were in our early 20's and had that time. In the present day, many people now have more real life commitments to be as active or enact the ideas they may have once had or still have for forum fun. That said, I think the biggest factor in getting younger users on here is through Nintendo and their sales. If NX can be a hit like Wii, then we'd probably see more new users around here. In the meantime, I've still got ideas to keep throwing out there to keep things interesting.

I agree on the desire to cause bigger forum shenanigans. Really, I just cling to a hope that once I finish school I'll have a bit more wiggle room for forum fun. The probable reality is that when I finish school, no matter the balance I may have in my future job, things like kids will enter the picture. So this may be the best I can give to the internet barring vacation time and other reprieves.

But I make the most of what time I am given and take what I can get.
