Title: Amazon Japan Begins Shipping Games Internationally
Post by: Shaymin on March 08, 2016, 12:41:54 PM

This would really be something if it wasn't for the region locks.

Import shoppers now have a new source for Japanese titles - Amazon Japan.

Previously, the Japanese branch of the retail giant would only allow domestic shipment of video games, but a policy change has allowed for international shoppers to take advantage of the site's selection. Currently, only items sold directly by Amazon Japan are eligible.

A full step-by-step procedure has been provided by USGamer. Note that due to Nintendo's region locking policies foreign systems would be required.

At least they can't region lock soundtracks and artbooks.

I am considering Bayonetta 2 artbook.

Others items of interest would be Splatoon soundtrack (Splatune), various n3DS cover plates, random merchandise...

Also, you have to create a new account for this. A bit weird considering my old account works on American, German, British and french Amazons just fine.

Really? I use my US Amazon login on Amazon Japan and have been for years. I haven't really had any problems and I've used both the US and JPN versions for ordering stuff over the years.

Anyway, great news for anyone outside of Japan! Tons of cool stuff! I imagine the age of cheap bio sensors for the N64 are going away. :-(
