Title: Inklings, Shovel Knight Coming To Smash?

The end of the ballot means a stream of rumors about what could be coming to Smash Bros

Multiple sources have hinted at what could future Smash Bros characters in the weeks ahead.

Last night, it was discovered that Nintendo's own Amiibo listing showed compatibility for the Shovel Knight Amiibo as a trainable fighter in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. The page has since been removed, but other Amiibo such as Chibi-Robo were not on the page in question. Yacht Club Games has denied the rumor publicly, in a fashion similar to how they would not confirm the Shovel Knight Amiibo prior to its reveal at PAX Prime.

A separate set of rumors has a Splatoon/Smash combination video launching in the next few weeks, which would confirm both the Inklings of Splatoon as playable characters and a new stage. No word on if the video would simply focus on the Smash elements, or if they would announce official releases for things such as playable Octolings. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Where does that second rumor come from? Is it like a NWR exclusive tip off or is there somewhere it originated from?

It's obvious that Shovel Knight is coming to Smash, it's just a shame to have this happen to Yacht Club. I'm sure they're itching to announce it already.


Splatoon in Smash makes too much sense considering it's runaway popularity.

Independent confirmation of a rumor that's spiked in the last couple of days through other sources.

I figured the Inklings were hot enough that they'd warrant a debut in the NX OS Smash Bros game. But strike while the iron is hot and all that... I still say it's 20% they turn up, though, whereas I'm way more confident in Shovel Knight.

While I would like some sort of Direct or mini-Direct to announce the news, it seems more likely that it would just be a small video drop on Youtube.

Haven't played a round of Splatoon with white ink yet.  Probably haven't done enough online.

Pretty sure there is no white or black ink in Splatoon. It's all bright orange, blue, green, teal, purple, and a couple of others.

i hate Shovel Knight, but it seems i'm the only one.
there's no white inkt in Splatoon!  ;)

I had a few games with Pink that were really fun.
