Title: 20 Questions - Game 1
Post by: Khushrenada on October 06, 2015, 03:18:23 PM
As we wait for Mop it up to die from inactivity in not choosing a new Bomb Word, I thought I'd expand the Khushrenada NWR Forum Game Media Empire Conglomorate by introducing yet another genius game to our ever growing line up of instant mega hits. Despite creating and or hosting such mega hits as Mafia, Safe Words, and Make UncleBob Reply, not every forum member here is playing at least one or all of these games.

Having been told about something called personal preference from some focus groups conducted by the Khushrenada Conglomorate, the mystery remains. After all, Khushrenada's preferences should be everyone's preferences. Recognizing that there's no accounting for poor taste, the decision was made to just take an existing game and put the famous Khushrenada spin on it and call it a day in the hopes that it can appeal to forum members who have not yet found the appeal of the current existing roster of games. Plus, it can take the place of Password while it remains on indefinite hiatus.

With that useless introduction which explains nothing out of the way, welcome to 20 Questions!

In case you are somehow unfamiliar with the game, Wikipedia somehow has a pretty accurate description of how it works so here's the mostly plagiarized rules from that site.

In the traditional game, one player is chosen to be the answerer. That person chooses a subject (object) but does not reveal this to the others. All other players are questioners. They each take turns asking a question which can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No." The answerer answers each question in turn. Sample questions could be: "Is it bigger than a breadbox?" or "Can I put it in my mouth?" That's what she said Lying is not allowed in the game. If a questioner guesses the correct answer, that questioner wins and becomes the answerer for the next round. If 20 questions are asked without a correct guess, then the answerer has stumped the questioners and gets to be the answerer for another round.

To start off, I will be the answerer and anyone who wishes to play will be the questioner. For this first round, the object is a Video Game. Can you figure out which one it is? You have 20 questions starting now.

Is this game one in a franchise, if you define a franchise as 4 or more related games (in characters and/or themes) (or such characters, stories, and/or themes existing in 2+ mediums) that are not ports of a singular game?

If you're in, then all you have to do is ask me a question that can be answered by a yes or no. There is no sign-up. Just jump in and participate. If no one has been able to guess the game after 20 questions, I reveal the answer. If you want to guess the game, you have to ask it in the form of a yes or no question and it counts as one of the 20 questions.

Is this game one in a franchise, if you define a franchise as 4 or more related games (in characters and/or themes) (or such characters, stories, and/or themes existing in 2+ mediums) that are not ports of a singular game?

In the way that you define franchise, Yes.

We can do this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_GameCube_games (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_GameCube_games)

Not published by Nintendo (so, not Metroid Prime), also not Sports or Activision or a one-off.

What is this?! Conspiracy! How dare you all start working together to solve the mystery! Unlike you, I don't need help. I can stump you all on my own.

Has Jontron reviewed it?

As much as I'd like to burn off one more of your questions with this one which will in no way help any of you, I can not say for sure a yes or no to this answer. Therefore, I must reject the question. You all still have 4 questions left.

There are three Prince of Persia games, Rocky, Ghost Recon, Batman: Vengeance, Evolution Worlds. A couple others.

We need a question that will narrow it down pretty sufficiently. Like, either split US/Canada developers or multi-platform releases.

Yes, the questioners took awhile to get their house in order which I am most grateful for. Just wish they'd hurry up with the last two questions. It's a parlor game. You don't stay at someone's house for 3 days to think of 20 questions to ask.

Or perhaps we do, Kushrenada.  You see, you made this thread to win, and the only way for you to lose is for us to beat you at your game.  But it isn't the only way for you not to win.  So, bearing impossible odds, perhaps the only winning move, is not to play.

Touche.  And a person as committed to these forums as yourself would never make a one-off game, especially after it made the forums more active.

So, in the interest of ending it, is it an Ubisoft game?

No.

And with that, the questioner's have failed. Khushrenada is the winner and we will never play this game again. Ha ha ha!

You were getting close. Perhaps if you had another 2 questions you may have gotten it. You did mention it twice now. The game in question is:

I just bought it a couple weeks ago. I remember liking it a bit back when it came out in 2002. It wasn't a long game and most of the levels were pretty empty. You could beat the thing in a day or two completely. I was still really big in the Batman Animated Series then and it came across as a pretty good rendition of that series. It got me wondering if anyone else might even still remember the game and in thinking of a new forum game I could pitch, the idea of 20 questions came to me and the appeal of whether other forum members could figure out about this game in 20 questions was interesting to me. You almost did.

However, if you do want to play another round of this, I am up for it.

Since Nickmitch was the one who asked the most questions last time, I'd be willing to let him choose the category for the next round or he can leave it up to me again.

Argh! I almost picked Batman because of Batman reasons.

I'm game for another round. This sounds like something simple and easy to play as people are free and it's not like there would be any reason to worry about a time limit.

Well game could refer to many things. Board game, sports or hunting. But I'll assume it means Video Game again and go with that.

The only question is whether I should start it here or in a new thread.

Hmmmmmm.

New thread it is because I believe in Thread Proliferation as I've said before and it will help things look a bit fresher in this forum with new threads appearing and not the same old ones always on top.
