What exactly does greninja gain from jolt absorb over, say, protean?

And with Protean it gains much more utility.
Greninja is still weak to Fighting, Bug, Grass, and Fairy and really frail so I can just send one of those Pokemon in to wreck his day.
Shedinja is a clever trick and nothing more with plenty of ways to get rid of it.
Lucario is probably the only one who's a problem mainly because he's really versatile. A specific moveset for Lucario can be countered but I don't know what moveset he's running. Regardless there are ways to disable speed boost and then move on to take on lucario with a fire attack or somethin.
