Post by: Citrus on July 07, 2003, 01:33:47 PM
ok.. it all started when I was playnig my game and then I got bored so I turned my gamecube off and I went to do something else, then only 20 minutes later, I came back to play, and I turned in on but the game wuld never start, only the option cube thingie, when I pressed up for the game options, it said there was no disk. So i opened it and closed it, then it said it was reading it.. but it was still the same thing..  tried everything.. I shook it (lol) I blew on it.. I checked it over and over, but I still don' know the problem.. any help? I am new here anyways

Have you tried another game? Make sure it isnt just a bad disk. If multiple disks wont read then it is likely a problem with the laser. Is it still under warranty?

Sounds like your laser is dead. Look in the manual that came with your GameCube for Nintendo's phone number. If it's still under warrenty, you'll have no troubles.

The noise sounds like it is searching really hard for data. On my Sony DVD it will make a scratching sound if I load a cdr. It looks and looks for data, but cant find it. You laser could be dirty, scratched, misaligned etc. Go here to troubleshoot your system and see what you repaire options are. You have a 12 month warranty.

ok thanx, but it didn't exactly give me what I need. I just hope that I don't have to pay much to fix it, because I rented a game from blockbuster so it would be like renting it for nothing..

I checked your profile and saw that your living in Canada, so to resolve your problem go check http://www.nintendo.ca/2002/english/repairs.shtml. BTW I'm from Toronto and I've had recently needed to take my NGC to the repair center because it wasn't reading the disc and the disc(any disc that I have) wouldn't even spin and they repaired my NGC free of any charge and I think my warranty is past due because I bought the system 1 month after it came out.

There should be a ban on these types of posts.  Often times it is the same person posting the same thing under different names.  It's so easy to get multiple identities in this forum.   Why would people do this you ask?  Well there are some desperately lonely, bitter, angry losers out there whose only connection to the world is the internet.  They have nothing better to do than to try and bring everyone else down, or to bash systems they don't own.

Truthfully, I'm sorry IF you are having a problem, but there's nothing we can do about it.

CALL FREAKIN' NINTENDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And someone please close this thread.  This is not an Authorized Nintendo Repair center.

Jeebus. . . you okay?  You didn't take your medication today, did you?  You know the doctor told you to, honey dear.  Why don't you ever take it?

I don't see a problem with these posts, and going here is more convenient then calling Nintendo.  There is a technical discussion forum, but I'm not sure if these types of posts should go there.  Whatever, I don't care if it's locked or not.
