So yeah, I am an Apple fan but I must say I really slept on this Surface product. The build quality is outstanding. The OS is quite responsive albeit gimped by not being a real Windows 8.1 product. MicroSD slot. The screen is quality HD. The camera is solid not great. The lack of apps are noticeable and obviously small but on a device with a "Real" web browser it is less of an issue than I originally thought. (also my kids can play all those flash based Y8 games in all their mediocre glory) But the biggest win for me is the 3.0 USB onboard. While Apple is obsessed with how thin they can make there products (also a metric I'll never understand) they have, in my opinion limited the ability to use the device to its max potential. Flashdrive/hardrive? Check! Printer? Check! Xbox360 controller Check! Hell I even started a ping of Comcast DNS while troubleshooting some voip phones in the hallway of the gig all for....$199.99. (on sale at MicroCenter or Amazon)
I realize this isn't for every body and it has its flaws (Windows Rt) but for me there has never been a more all around complete tablet experience.
Also Halo: Spartan Assault is really awesome.

You may want to keep your receipt though, Windows RT is dead. Perhaps there will be a Windows 10 release for the Surface and Surface 2.

Yeah I know it's dead, but I don't need to update office365 and future support isn't what I need it for. In the here and now, I'm so very good. All the major stuff is covered: Microsoft Exchange, Netflix, Games, Music , SSH and ping for troubleshooting. if Win10 comes to it? Great! If not, just as good.

I thought about getting one when they were on some really good sale, but it's literally impossible to change the OS (unless Microsoft updates it) so I stayed away.
