Title: Nintendo's Creator Program Experiencing High Demand

Despite protests from YouTube streamers, many are still jumping on board.

While many are upset at how Nintendo is handling the sharing of its content online, applications to join the company's Creator Program are pouring in at a rate the Big N wasn't even anticipating.

"Due to your enthusiasm for the program, we’re receiving a higher volume of applications to register channels & videos than expected," Nintendo explained. "It is taking longer than we anticipated to confirm the applications. We appreciate your patience as we work through them as quickly as possible."

In an effort to expedite the process, Nintendo recommends applicants remove content that isn't included in its list of supported games.

Nintendo not being able to keep up with higher than expected demand? You don't say.


I'm curious to see who is signing up for this monstrosity, if there are any high profile channels.

I notice Donkey Kong Country for the SNES is not on the list.  So if I want to post a video review of that game on Youtube I can't?

**** this whole nonsense.  Nintendo is coming across like out-of-touch dinosaurs here (wait, am I commenting on the Creator Program or pretty much anything else Nintendo has done over the last few years).  If the entire industry were being dicks about this stuff I could see it but Nintendo is the only one so they look like the old curmudgeons ruining everyone's fun.  And as usual Nintendo pounds their chest when they have no leg to stand on.  So the company that makes the least popular console is putting their foot down while the creators of the more popular consoles don't?  Yeah I'm sure that will win people over.

Nintendo not being able to handle people trying to use one of their services related to the internet? What were the odds?  ::)

I would like to know what fools are actually signing up for this thing, so they can be summarily mocked.

Odds of the other two platform holders and big 6 Western publishers adopting this just went off the board in Vegas. Sad that this is the time Nintendo does something online first, though.
