Best Platformer: Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.
We all know Sonic beats Mario because he runs faster and because genesis does what Nintendon't. And no matter how many animals from the Minnesota Zoo Donkey Kong beats up he will never be able to beat Sonic.
Best Horror Game: The Letter
Look Aliens: Isolation was fun and all but honestly, alot of games have aliens. Animal Crossing has a ufo you have to shoot down with a slingshot and a creepy tv thing at 3 am for goodness sakes. We have enough games with aliens.
You know what we don't have enough representation of in games? Mail. Can you think of another 2014 game with mail? No, you can't. The Letter dares to represent this usually untapped idea and for that it's the Funhouse Horror GOTY
Best 3rd Person Action Game: Assasin's Creed Unity.
The reason I play video games is to escape reality and one of those realities I face is that women are, for whatever reason, not attracted to me. I play Bayonetta 2 and I am constantly reminded of my nonexistant love life.
I applaud Ubisoft for their decision to not have playable female characters so I can avoid remembering those tragic moments in my love life. Besides Ubisoft is so awesome that they gave us a free game just to avoid legal trouble (http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/free-game-assassins-creed-unity-comes-catch/) isn't that nice.
Also Polygon says Bayonetta is sexist and we all know Polygon is the greatest press outlet ever.
Best Puzzle Game: PasswordLuv Connection
Let's be honest, Password fucking sucks. It's the most dull and repetitive game out there. The 'game' is basically you try to guess what one word out of thousands in the English language Khushrenada thought of. I tried trolling it once with the french word for kitten but got so bored I just bailed after the second hint.
That said Password gets the puzzle game of the year. No it's not because Password is hosted here on the forums and so I'm contractually obliged to give it the reward. It's actually because Khushrenada is right behind me holding a golden axe in front of my neck.
Hey guys, you know that shitty password game khushy put on here? Take that, and add fun. That's Luv Connection.

The updates just mess with the purity of drive club. Besides I hear sunlight from the weather update is bad for THAT LEATHER!!!!!!
That's right folks. You see the issue with games like Sonic Boom, Assassin's Creed, and even those loser games like Smash and Bayonnetta is that they exist. There is a limit to how fun they can be. Woo-Hoo does not exist and thus it can be as awesome and fun as it wants.
Feel like supporting the devs by paying microtransactions? Just give the money to me, I'm sure I'll get it to them eventually. You don't like microtransactions? Well there are no microtransactions.
The game doesn't even have to be fun! For those people who hate fun such as the mods of this very forumWoo-hoo can be as un-fun as you could possibly imagine.
Now that's what you call a wide range of gameplay options.
And for all that and so much more Woo-hoo is the game of the show.
And because Woo-hoo doesn't exist I get to keep all the reward money for myself.
