I found I won the Back-to-School Sweepstakes from Aspyr, one of the bigger Mac game publishers. This prize includes every one of their games and a fully-loaded MacBook Pro. And I very nearly missed it entirely because I skimmed over the first email they sent telling me I won.
So two lessons: 1, enter every sweepstakes you can find, because you might actually win, and 2, for the love of god, at least read part of the emails you get before deleting them.

I've still got some things I want to do with the old one. I bought a 2 TB hard drive for it recently but can't get it to work right, and I'd still like to get that working. I may just use it as some kind of media server or something. It's also not in particularly good shape; the fans are buzzing very loudly most of the time, the battery holds pretty much no charge, etc.

Mac gaming's come a long way in recent years. Most big titles are there, and especially indies. And hell, I could boot the thing into Windows to play games that aren't there.

I'm not much of a PC gamer anyway. The one thing I really care about in the near future is Civilization: Beyond Earth, and that's coming to Mac day and date with the PC release, so I'm good.

He's not a PC gamer, but he'll be playing tons of great games on his Mac.
As I said in the opening post, in addition to the MacBook Pro (and the very important t-shirt) I also got every game of theirs that they're still currently selling, so I've got several dozen new PC games that I might as well play.
I can't find the comic but, there is one that has a Mac Gamer in a museum stored in Tube from about 10 years ago.
That's kind of odd since the Mac gaming scene has improved dramatically in the last decade. The increasing user base and switch to Intel has resulted in a lot more things coming to it.

Yeah, having a mac as one of your primary gaming rigs is ridiculous but you shouldn't have any issues with it as a side thing.

It does everything I needed to do and as Brandogg's pointed out it's easy enough to boot into Windows at which point there's effectively no difference. I'll likely end up doing that once Galactic Civilizations III comes out.

Well then yeah, that's about right. For a stretch there you had Mac-specific developers like Bungie (at the time) and Ambrosia (I <3 Escape Velocity so damn much) putting out some great stuff that was Mac-only, or at least Mac-first.

That's a tempting offer. You never know when $10 could come in handy.
That's true. Much better than a MacBook Pro which is never handy.

Well the Mac is actually pretty good at running games, all jokes aside, heck look at this demonstration (http://youtu.be/e9VNXsPRvTo#t=01m15s) of the Mac's oft overlooked gaming capabilities.

That whole 64-bit thing with Apple was weird. The actually went all 64-bit and then reverted it in a later release then when back to it...

Yes but getting back to the original intent of Insanolord's thread, he's absolutely right about checking your e-mails. I took a look at mine and it turns out I was missing a lot of stuff.
I've just taken advantage of getting 65% off Pfiezer drugs which is hand since I've ordered a testosterone booster to further increase my manliness and I've got another pill that is guaranteed to let me lose 20 lbs a month thanks to the helpful direction of a couple e-mails. I was able to get in on the ground floor of a company whose stock is expected to rise by 30 points this week! Shockingly, it turns out I may not have been pleasuring the ladies as much as I thought I was because my dick may not have been long enough. Fortunately, a good friend of mine (because who else would have my e-mail address?) was able to show me how I could get some pills to fix that as well. It turns out that I'm the worldwide phenomenon I always thought I was too because a whole bunch of hot Ukrainian ladies all want to date me and a Nigerian prince feels I am the only one he can trust in helping get his money out of the country and in return he'll even give me a bit for my help.
In three months, I expect to be fit, trim, well hung, rich and making out with a hot lady every night. Look like I won't have to hang out with you losers anymore. My ship has come in.

It showed up today. 2.5 Ghz i7 (with some kind of weird overclock thing), 16 GB of RAM, 2 GB of VRAM, 512 GB SSD. Yeah, I've got no issue with the use of the term "fully loaded."

**** yeah dude. I don't know if 512GB would be enough for me - if I had a MacBook Pro I would have to install Windows (or at least have a Windows VM), Visual Studio, Android Studio (though I suppose I could install the OSX version). I think I'm at over 500GB (legitimately) used on my laptop now.
