NWR's staff gives a list of who they'd love to see make the cut.

The recent Super Smash Bros. character leaks have more than likely left many at Nintendo ready to set someone on fire. But at the end of the day, one thing remains - we potentially have a screenshot of the full roster of combatants for the upcoming 3DS and Wii U games in the series. Or do we? If you look at the purportedly valid screenshot, you can see that there's a few spaces open for some potential hidden characters, or even downloadable content. So we posed this question to our staff:

If you look at the supposedly leaked Super Smash Bros. roster there is still room for about four or five characters. If those five spaces are to be filled, who would you want to see there?

Realistically...
1. Dr. Luigi
2. Pink Gold Peach
3-5. Some other characters that should be alternate costumes but will take up an entire roster spot

Some good picks up there, hadn't considered Monita before...
I like Neal's picks the best, I think.

I believe Rayman can still be in Smash Bros., despite Matt Ryan mistakenly saying he'll be in due to his trophy.

Some dark horses:


1. King Hippo (Punch Out)2. Andy (Advance Wars)
3. Jumpman (1981 Donkey Kong)
4. Space Pirate (Metroid Prime Design)
5. Mona (WarioWare Series)


King Hippo: two or more newcomers from the same series apparently isn't impossible, and Little Mac was one of the first newcomers to be revealed.
Andy: The Wars series is sadly under-represented, and Andy is more or less the face of it.
Jumpman: Swinging hammers, climbing ladders, leaping barrels, removing rivets, collecting purses... what a moveset.
Space Pirate: With Ridley a boss, Kraid a stage feature in Melee, and Mother Brain an assist trophy, who else?
Mona: Because all the WarioWare characters are extremely colorful and fleshed out, but Smash Brothers needs some more Smash Sisters. Besides, Mona has a scooter, pets, and amazing music.

Replace Mewtwo with Snake, and you've got the real final roster... at least according to the leakers. And if you examine the roster image that does seem more likely since considering how the characters are grouped. The group of Pokémon appears complete. The  final row with the 3rd party characters (and Shulk for some reason) has the extra space for Snake to fit in.

First and foremost, I'd like to point out the interesting fact that the screenshot of all-star mode that was leaked by this same leaker who showed the character select screen still had the padlock symbol on it, indicating that All-Star mode was not yet complete!

Now then, if I had it my way, we'd be getting...

1.) Klonoa : This guy has gameplay mechanics that are PERFECT for a smash bros game. I was actually really disappointed when Bandai Namco decided to take the more obvious route.
2.) Pulseman : I'd be happy with Harmoknight or Jill Dozer here as well, but I feel Pulseman again has the mechanics that not only best suit him for Super Smash Bros, but he'd be a fun electric based character that would weigh in a bit heavier than Pikachu. I also think Pulseman would be a great way to work in a moveset somewhat similar to Plasma Kirby for Kirby's benefit.
3.) Mike Jones : Ness Clone who trades out the PK powers for more weapons based attacks and raw power. Heck, I'd like a trophy at least acknowledging Startropics' existence...!
4.) Monita : I have lofty concepts for Monita! being that she's just a floating monitor that can sprout arms, I feel like it'd only be appropriate if she ended up being Super Smash Bros' various characters rolled into one. all her customizable special moves would be the standard moves of franchises reprisented in Nintendoland. She could in theory choose between Samus' Charge Beam, the Falcon Punch, or Mario's Fireballs. For her up+B, she could get Villager's baloon trip or DK's helicopter thing or...
5.) Ice Climber : is buried super deep in the game. the real shame will be that the community will descover that they've either made decyncs impossible or they've disabled Grabs on Nana, making Wobble impossible and burying the Ice Climber's one true good gimmick.

I think Wonder Red or Pink or Blue (Wonderful 101) would be awesome! I know it wasn't a very popular game, but I loved it
