Title: Mind = blown.
Post by: BranDonk Kong on June 15, 2014, 10:12:25 PM
I just found out (saw it on the back of the book my wife was reading) that John Green from Mental Floss wrote The Fault In Our Stars (the book). Never read the book or seen the movie, but I find that rather amazing.

I read The Fault in Our Stars. I thought it was only okay, definitely overrated (better than one of John Green's other books, Paper Towns which was uneven in that the beginning and end are pretty good but the middle drags). Then again, I'm not a teenage girl anymore. But seriously, it's major issue is the insta-love that is so prevalent in modern teen fiction. I might watch the movie when if it shows up on Netflix just to see how the filmmakers adapted certain things, but there's no need to go out of my way. The most entertaining bit about the movie and buzz around it is how so many people were angry at John Green for the ending even though in a story with cancer patients, one can take a pretty educated guess of what might happen. Still, I love the taste of their tears. I use it to season my food.
