Nintendo is looking to get a lot of future 3DS sales from kids, and also to get a lot of girls of all ages playing as well. This was the intention that NOA President Reggie Fils-Aime divulged to analysts at an E3 briefing.
Nintendo's intention to target younger demographics became clear with the release last year of the 2DS version of the hardware, a less expensive version that lacked the 3D effect and any associated health concerns for younger eyes.
The announcement was met with a generally favorable public response.
"I approve this message," said John, a registered sex offender from the tri-state area.
"Thank goodness," said Richard, a registered sex offender in the so-cal district, "I just wish that Nintendo would restore Swapnote. Hopefully, this effort will allow me to start getting some more use out of my 3DS."
"Looks like I'm going to have to pick up a 3DS," remarked Ding-dong Shalong, a registered sex offender from district 9.
Nintendo's 3DS family of systems has already moved more than 43 million units worldwide, so it remains to be seen how the gaming company angles its upcoming lineup of software and promotions to achieve its stated objectives.

Is that how they are going to do it? Make a videogame with subliminal messages to turn part of the male gamer population female and voila! Problem solved.

whatever happened to that game that supposedly "taught" girls how to discover their, um, selves? Wouldn't bringing that back/out do the trick?
