I hope this means GameCube VC coming to Wii U. Also, Holy **** @ WaveBird prices, I had no idea.

I would like VG but it would be nice just for them to have a Gamecube bc channel where they have a virtual memory card. Heck I would even purchase such a channel.

Since it's called the GameCube adapter and not the "Smash" adaptor, I'm sure there will be other uses for this as time goes on.

Yes, this means that gamecube and n64 games can come to vc. Pretty sure they hadn't yet because of the lack of analogue triggers.

This makes me wonder if they plan to add gamecube backwards compatability as an additional sales incentive. Cant you put a gcn disc in? Doesnt it load but not do anything? All they need is a channel for the save files.

I dunno about the GCN disc... but instead of (or with) a save file channel... what if there was a memory card slot in this boondongle? Import your real GCN save files direct from your memory card... :)

Full backwards compatible with Game Cube would be a big deal for me, but I would settle for just a few select titles on VC. I think they would be reluctant to release a full on emulator for this considering how fast the pirates would swoop in and release their homebrew version.

The Wii had to use a special disc drive to be able to accept both sizes of discs, and that caused a fair number of hardware issues, so I'd bet good money the Wii U disc drive won't take GameCube-sized discs, taking full GameCube backwards compatibility off the table.

Besides, Nintendo would be better off reselling GC games on the VC (or in HD).
I wonder if they'll patch LoZWWHD to support the controller.
