Title: NOA climbs back to the top of the yarnball: Now selling extended Gamepad battery
Post by: Shaymin on December 20, 2013, 11:41:35 PM
$32 US (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=211708&currency=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=69716&ddkey=http%3ASetCurrencyPreference) for roughly 8 hours of battery life depending on your settings. Perfect for those long sessions of caterwauling in 3D World.

$32 for a 2550 mAh battery is pretty high, but if they sell them cheaper then they look like dicks for not just including them in the first place.

I am waiting for Energizer and Duracell to come out with their own version of the Gamepad battery that offer superior battery life to anything on the market right now.

I wouldn't object to Nintendo sending all early adopters one of these for Christmas...

I'd be happy with a 50% off coupon from Club Nintendo for anyone who registered their Wii U in 2012. Keep in mind, you still have to pay for shipping which I presume is $5.

So, who's getting one? I'm seriously considering it.

I'm holding off for now. I'll let the battery in my GamePad run it's course and when it stops holding a decent charge (for what it's designed for, three hours or so), I'll look into a replacement. Maybe by then Nintendo will release an even better battery.
