Puyo Puyo Tetris is set to release on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U in Japan on February 6 for 5,229 yen as both a physical and downloadable title, Nintendo revealed at the latest Nintendo Direct in Japan.

The game is a mash up of the both Tetris and Puyo Puyo and allows gamers to play competitively against the computer or with up to four friends. For more information about Puyo Puyo Tetris, be sure to read my impressions of the 3DS version from the Tokyo Game Show build of the game here.

So what is 5229 yen? I assume its not $52.... I hope its not $52!

Hoping for an American release date. WiiU is not a real system until it has a Tetris game on it!

Yeah, that price is about $51-ish or so USD. That's about the going rate for 3DS games (first party stuff is generally around $48) but they can sometimes be higher. The thing is, though, you'll be able to find this at electronic stores for about $8-$10 cheaper than the suggested retail price. So it's not too bad, all things considered.
