Title: ATT Cellular Data Back in the South. Let's talk Cell Plans.
Post by: Ceric on December 19, 2013, 09:58:39 AM
Just talked with a Tech and it seems Data coverage is down in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and most of the rest of the South. I can't find a News story about it from my typical outlets. Phone doesn't seem effected but its been out since 3:30 this morning. Sort of annoying for me.
Just a Heads up ATT Workers. Also I won't be on Twitter today.
Edit:
I'm back on Twitter and the Data is Back.

You *could* tweet via text message.

If you're paying for text messages...this is the 90's bro, everyone is unlimited now.
$15 when I already have a Data Plan and Voice... You can just direct tweet me or something. Except right now with the Data down.
Also the 90's? Having lived through that age with a Cellphone I can tell you that Unlimited Texting wasn't a thing then really.
Shoot we felt lucky that the Internet was Unlimited now and we were off of Dialup.

It's a joke. Anyway, I have no idea how much you pay, but if this is your plan then you probably haven't signed a new contract in a while. You can get AT&T service through Net 10 for $50/month, unlimited everything, first 2.5GB of data is LTE (2G after that but still unlimited).

I dunno man, I have virtually unlimited talk (N/W, 5 F&F numbers, Mobile to Mobile and 450 minutes for anything else - which is probably more than I talk on my phone total), unlimited 4G data with HotSpot and unlimited texting and I pay about $65/month.
Granted, not everyone can get in on a deal this sweet, but... :D

That's pretty darn good.
I have a Family talk plan with Rollover and 700 minutes. It has Nights and Weekends, Mobile to Mobile, I have Unlimited Data and My Wife has 3GB of Data. My Phone is $67.50, I get 25% off, and my Wife is $39.99 Per Month. Last bill was $131.40 for Cellphones.
I should look into the off brands but Sprint and Verizon don't cover my House.

Your bill would be exactly $90 on Net 10. It runs on AT&T's network.

Blast, UncleBob... help a brother out. I pay $85 for 500 minutes/N&W/MtM/Unlimited Data&Text - grandfathered plan from AT&T.
I'd love cheaper, though.

This might be handy - I'm coming in to the US for a week on the 26th (Disney ho!) and have a unlocked phone at the ready. I used to work for at&t (and would rather not talk about it), but not for a while. What's the cheapest plan that gets me data and texting for prepaid?

Looks like Net10 has a $50 for a month of Unlimited everything but I would think you be able to do better than that for just a week.
