Title: Train runs over couple having sex on tracks

So, apparently, a middle-aged couple in Ukraine was having sex on some train tracks, and then the train came along and asked if it could get in on it, then reacted badly when they said no.
I'm totally not making this up. If I wasn't a newbie who didn't know how to post links, I'd post the link to the article.
The thing I don't understand is WHY DIDN'T THEY GET OFF THE DAMN TRACKS?!?! It's not like a train can just sneak up on you, y'know! It's big! It's loud! And it shakes the ground! YOU'D KNOW IT WAS COMING!!!!!
This is a thing that happened, but...I just...I don't...it can't....
GAAAAAHH!!! My perceptions of reality are so skewed right now!
