Title: July. A short story.
Post by: nitsu niflheim on June 12, 2003, 03:18:10 PM
Inspired by Termin8Anakin posting his story I decided to resurrect a old story that I had laying around.  If you are willing to read a 8000+ story then you can read it here. july  Hope you like and let me know what you think.  There is probably spelling and grammar errors so please excuse them.

Thanks.  I may try and publish it, but I am currently working on a nother story that is now almost 400 pages.  I started july way back in 1998 and hadn't done anything with it since 2000.  The only problem is figuring out the best place to submit it to.

Oh, Infernal, how do you tell when someone rates you?  My journal says it has one vote but can't figure anything else out.

Yeah.  Right now I would say that it's about 25% done so I have a lot of writing left to do.  My silly job gets in my way too.

As for my age, I'm 24.  I'll be 25 in September.

I thought you were older than me.
It's a bit hard reading material as good as that from a 13 year old or something.
I'd be so ashamed.

I am going to post a revised 1st chapter to my Zelda story sometime this week.  I'n not going to promise a speedy completion rate for the story because I am a functioning lazy person and usually only work when motivated with inspiration.  I know what I want to do with the story so I will go with it from there.

Hopefully the forums won't be acting too retarded when I go to put it up, we'll just have to see.

I figured I would go ahead and fulfill my promise.

The Legend of Zelda:  Sorrow of Shadows

It's just the first chapter, but it's a start.  Okay Infernal, let me know what you think.

okay, i'm not infernal, but i'll tell you how i think.  i think it was great, extremely good, but it had a little too much description in the first paragraph.  it would have been much better if it was actually in a book, becasue reading it on a web page does it no justice.  the lines were to long (no, not the sentences, although some were lengthy) but the actual lines.  it's early in the morning here and i'm still groggy, so and can't really think of the words to express how much i liked it, but keep up the great writing, and i only wish that i could write as well as you.  if you post anymore of your works on the forum, i'll read them.
oh yeah, i didn't read all of july, but i liked what i read better than zelda.  but with july, you should break it up in to chapters or something because it was a little overwhelming the way it was, again, becasue it's alot harder to read when it's on a webpage.

Well, to help you can have your browser window not set at full screen, make it about half size and the text will reformat to fit the smaller window, thus lines that are about half the size.

I have techincally finished chapter 2, not as long as chapter 1.  I am going through a minor editing phase and should hopefully have it up by sunday.

Thanks for the feedback.  july at the moment isn't on my list of stories to work on though.  Maybe when I get some free time I'll work on it some more.

I'm lazy so shoot me.  Actually I just plain forgot.  I was playing Wild Arms 3 when I realized I haven't put chapter 2 up.

So here is both Chapter 1 and 2.  Seperate for easier reading (I hope)

The Legend of Zelda: Sorrow of Shadows  Chapter 1

The Legend of Zelda: Sorrow of Shadows  Chapter 2

I have started chapter 3, but it's gonna be a while before it's done because it's gonna be hectic at work because it's end of quarter time and have lost of work to do.  I'd say it's about 1% complete for what I want it to be.

Talk about back from the depths of death.  I don't have any new chapters to upload yet.  I have started working on Chapter 3 again, after not feeling creative for so long now.  I will do some more work on it this weekend if i can remember to upload the story to a disk so I can move it to my home computer.  I'd say chapter 3 is now about 12%, I am thinking of changing the title to something else and using the current title for the next chapter.  Well any news is good news, maybe.

Yay:  The Legend of Zelda: Sorrow of Shadows.  Chapter 3:  Resigned to the Truth, Laying in the Sheath of Darkness is finished.  I will upload it after I proofread it and do some minor editing.

I am also considering uploading another story I wrote, but if I do it will an as is job.  I really don't feel like doing any major editing to it because it's been a while since I last worke don it.  It's finished, and not very cheery either.  I will have to decide.

I'm late, I'm late for a very important .... date?

Well, sorry for the too long wait, here is Chapter 3.

http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/nitsujdark/stories/The_Legend_of_Zelda__Sorrow_of_Shadows_Chapter_3.htm

Chapter 4 is coming along nicely, so far I have almost 4 types double spaced pages.  Chapter 4 is so far going to be called. "Extrication of the Cold Dependency of Mendacity"  But it may or may not change, all depends on what turns and twists the story takes.

I hope to have Chapter 4 up sooner after it is finished than it took with Chapter 3.  But I will offer no promises.

Thank you for keeping me away from my homework for even the short time it took me to read it.

It was goodness to it.

Chapter 4

Chapter 5

A two for one special.  I didn't edit either that much because I have felt like writing.  I haven't started on chapter 6 yet and doubt I will even get around to it any time soon because I don't feel like it.

I wrote a short story (not the one about Lupas the polar bear ) just because I felt like it.  I have no idea where it's going or how long it will be, but nothing's really happened yet.  I'd share it with you guys if it wasn't so crappy.

Oh, and Nitsu, I don't have time to read chapters 4 and 5 right now, but I'll get to them tonight.

Publish.....

If Twilight Princess ever comes out, well then that's perfect!  But since that's Never Happening, I think you should work on your HUEG book instead

I could record a sound clip of me making Tingle noises if you want. Then you open up a Word document, loop the mp3 and let the ideas flow!

"Link turned, and with no visible emotion, plunged his sword into Tingle's chest"

Couchmonkey let out an agonized scream, "Noooooooooo!" and held his arms aloft, Darth Vader-style.  Crumpling into the ground, he buried his face in Tingle's blood-soaked tights and wept.
