Title: Angry Birds Trilogy Out Now for Wii and Wii U
Post by: Traveller on August 14, 2013, 08:03:45 AM

Those birds are now bringing their anger to Nintendo's consoles.

The Angry Birds Trilogy is now available for both Wii and Wii U.

The trilogy includes three of the Angry Birds titles: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio. The Wii and Wii U editions also come with original versions of the Anger Management and Fowl-Tempered Packs, which were previously available as downloadable content in the past, adding 11 episodes of holiday and seasonally themed stages. The game also features Off-TV play on Wii U and online leaderboards on both versions.

The Angry Birds Trilogy costs $49.99 on Wii U and $39.99 on Wii.

Sadly not available in the eshop, which probably means Activision and Nintendo still haven't resolved their digital download issues.

I'd rather pay $400 for Xenoblade than $50 for Angry Birds.

Finally the killer app we've been waiting for!  Now we'll see those Wii U systems hopping off the shelves.

(Disdain for pricing aside, this will probably be a solid game on Wii U. If it gets heavily discounted, I'd consider buying in.)

I'm really curious who out there would actively buy this game.  Surely even casual gamers/parents can see the ripoff factor between $0.99 phone apps and a $40/$50 disc.

The profit margin on these copies must be incredible at full retail price.

lolmonade, to be fair the HD iPad versions are $3.99 (or $2.99, I forget which). Still, $50 is too much. $20 I could see being fair based on 3 of them plus some of the DLC and leaderboards.

They're $2.99.

I think $20 is reasonable.  I hold no grievances towards Rovio for releasing it at $50, but I'm certainly not the target market at this price point.

Oh man.  I am so torn on this one for Wii.  I do love me some Angry Birds, and I do love getting new games on Wii, but $40 for a game that is free on browsers?  Guess I won't get... wait a minute.  Extremely late in life console release.  High price point.  Beloved franchise.  Oh God.  It's going to be, like, $150 on the collectors market in 10 years.  Well, guess I'm buying it.

I bought all the Operation Rainfall games, and boy I sure am glad to have Xenoblade (my guess is my copy of Pandora's Tower will end up the most valuable of the three however).

obligatory reminder that a $40 Angry Birds 3DS is North America's best selling 3rd party 3DS game
