Sam Fisher seems to have switched to a skinning knife for some reason...
Beyond that, the game is looking interesting, it seems to be having a strong online multi-player push.
No local coop for the Wii U version though, which is ironic considering ITS THE ONLY CONSOLE WITH A BUILT IN SECOND SCREEN. The reason give was:
Quote
In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren’t able to delve into this feature. But we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles.
Take from that what you will. Smaller team for Wii U, started later than other versions, takes more time and effort to figure out coop on the gamepad, take your pick.
HOWEVER Online coop op and multiplayer are there and Ubisoft has said that DLC will be the same as other versions of the game.

I'm thinking about picking this up instead of Pikmin 3 for my game of August. Does that make me a bad person? Or does it make me a Kairon?
edit: I almost forgot! Are you, or have you ever been, a member of the Tom Clancy book club?

I hope this current trend of "Nobody's bought a Wii U anyway so why give a **** about it" attitude amongst third parties ends soon.

Couldn't Ubisoft delay all versions, like they did with Rayman, so they can add wii u features? /s
That would require integrity from their part.

Still debating which platform to get this on. I'm wondering how the Wii U version will stack up against the others. I'll assume the PC version will look the best, and probably Live will have the most players for online. Live doesn't matter to me, since I cancelled that a while ago. It'll probably come down to the PC and Wii U for me depending on how well the Wii U version plays out.
Also, I'll really miss Ironside as Fisher. Voice acting hasn't been a strong point for the series, imo, but Ironside's deep, gritty Fisher just had a way of burrowing into my brain in a very comforting way.
I hope this current trend of "Nobody's bought a Wii U anyway so why give a **** about it" attitude amongst third parties ends soon.
I wonder if Ubisoft's fall lineup will have any bearing on their future efforts with the Wii U. We've got this, Rayman, ACIV, and Watch Dogs on the horizon, I'm sure Ubisoft are watching sales very carefully. They seem to believe that being the big fish in the little pond will be very beneficial to their bottom line, so it should be interesting to see if it pans out.

It's a trap to get people banned.
You'll never work in Hollywood again, Pinko!

I stopped by Gamestop today on the way home, and they had only one copy that was a pre-order. That will teach me for going in there. Tomorrow, Fred Meyer!

Demand has exceeded supply. I expect Gamestop to release "used" copies of the game in a couple years for $90 each.

Sam Fisher is gotten!
Now to stoke the console wars, 360 vs Wii U comparison video. not the best quality. Wii U colorization is a little different and slightly darker. Maybe he had the in game brightness down too low?

The brightness seems to be off in some of his other videos so I would guess that you're right.

On Wii U the lighting/shadowing is better, textures on the 360 seem to be a bit washed out. That's my take from that video comparison.

So I played through most of the first real mission before I figured out how to shoot my gun without having an execution.
This twin stick shooting... not so grand. Good thing my playstyle is GHOST DOG.
edit: Speaking of dogs, I had to kill a couple :'(
It's like third parties actively going out of their way to prevent me buying their games.

I am enjoying this game, but I am beginning to suspect I do not have a enough time to really get the full experience. I like playing stealth and replaying a level over-and-over is a part of that.
Ain't Nobody Got Time For That!

Why did the designers decide to end half the levels by forcing you into a big shootout? That's not Splinter Cell, that's not GHOST DOG.

That's not Stalin's style at all. He's not going to get into a big firefight, he'd kill you quietly and discreetly and then also edit you out of old photos in an attempt to erase your entire existence. Your way is far too blunt and messy for him.

I don't like this new Splinter Cell, even though I've played all the others (except for Conviction, because that was a 360 exclusive, and ain't nobody got time for that). I'm no good at sneaking through terrorist base camps in broad daylight. I miss sneaking through lightly patrolled office buildings in the middle of the night.

There was way too many daylight missions in this one. Why are you invading the terrorist camp during the middle of the day?
