Nintendo may be offering up smartphone-to-Wii U conversion software to application developers in an effort to bring apps to Wii U, according to The Japan Times.
The goal would be to increase sales of the system by having more popular titles available for download. The story also states that Nintendo is developing new games/software for the Wii U and making that a focus.

Mobile games are a different breed, but honestly I'm TOTALLY GAME for anything that puts more Tower Defenses on Nintendo platforms. And there ARE a bunch of mobile-originated games I already know I'd be happy to get. Heck, I already own Cut The Rope on DSiWare!
Gunman Clive sold more 3DS copies than Android and Apple COMBINED!Having played that game. I can only imagine how many phones were broken out of frustration w/ controls.
