Title: what is/was megathon?
Post by: vudu on June 03, 2003, 12:41:49 PM: i vaguely remember hearing something about a nintendo project called megaton around 6 months ago. i'm pretty sure it was determined to be a rumor/hoax, but i never really found out what it was supposed to be. can someone fill me in? thanks.

So massive rumors sprouted everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. For gods sake Penny Arcade mocked it. Well it turned out that a comic charachter from VJump was being made into a video game and that was it. Riots ensued.

I was hoping all the rumors were true, but knowing deep down they probably weren't.

i missed the whole megaton thing too, i was following it from the time something about a huge nintendo announcement (aka the megaton) and then i must have fallen into a coma or something, came out and had nfi what was going on

It debuted at #4 on the Dengeki charts in Japan last April, and has been holding at a solid 17th place for a while now.

The comic book it was based on is coming out now in the English version of Shonen Jump.
