Kick Ass.

Go to the minute-forty mark.

Yeeehaaaw! I'm betting on the Triforce Hunt to be redone. It really does look beautiful!

I certainly didn't expect this!

We saw an HD Zelda demo.  Of Course Windwaker was sure to follow this is tradition now.
But yeah the Triforce hunt is really the only reason I didn't beat Windwaker.  I will say that if they redo that part it be worth it.

Watch the new Nintendo Direct its in the last quarter of it.

I'd like to see what the actual characters look like in this version, because the environments seemed to indicate that the cel shading art style was being downplayed.  I hope that's not the case, because I actually thought the GameCube footage looked better than their HD environment screenshots. I REALLY hope they've cut that godawful Triforce Scavenger Hunt and replaced it with the two missing dungeons.

Otherwise...meh? (or should I say "shmeeh?"). It's Wind Waker again. I liked Wind Waker on the GameCube, but I can't say I'm thrilled at the prospect of playing it again just yet. Maybe I'll be more interested in the Fall when this thing supposedly releases.

Eh.

I've got original and it plays fine as it is. Why should i plow through the same dungeons all over again?

It's probably targeted at newcomers.

I'm glad this is on Wii U instead of 3DS if only for the gorgeous HD visuals. I'd love both GamePad (like Ocarina of Time 3D) and Wii Remote (similar to Twilight Princess) control schemes.

I hope the Triforce hunt is redone. It should really be on islands with mini-dungeons. In any case, I was hoping for a remake which would encourage me to replay the game. Again, I know this is backwards.

I do have to wonder if they'll still have some method of Tingle Tuner in it.  I would assume using the GamePad... but what if you're using off-TV play? Perhaps this'll be the first 3DS Connectivity title?

Hopefully we can change wind direction on the fly. As a matter of fact I have a feeling they will make it so you play the song once and then just use a stick or something initiate the wind direction automatically.

Man, that would eliminate so much unnecessary tedium from that game. One of the big reasons I disliked sailing in Wind Waker was constantly having to stop & play the Song of Winds to change Wind Direction every time I wasn't moving exactly where I wanted to at a given moment.

Or swipe the map on the GamePad screen to make the wind go in that direction.

That would be excellent.  Streamlining sailing would be a great thing.

I'm a dirty cheat.

A few years ago, I replayed Wind Waker... but I used an Action Replay.
It has a cheat code that allows you to pull up the map, select an area, push a button and warp right to it.

That made the game so much more enjoyable for me. :D

I usually hate double dipping but.. I am pretty excited for this. If they confirm additional content, like the dungeons supposedly left out of the original release AND confirm that the triforce hunt IS STILL IN THE GAME than this will be a day one purchase.

If it's kept as is but with a graphics over-haul, I'll pass but get it down the line for cheaper, just to have it.

Definitely wasn't expecting that one, but that piece of news made my day. That's my favorite Zelda after OoT, and seeing it in HD and with Miiverse support, the triforce hunt just got better.

So things that need to be definite do overs:

1 - Controlling wind direction, making it much easier and instantaneous. Like the Iron Boot in OoT3D.

2 - The missing dungeons we were told about after the game was released. if I recall some of those dungeon ideas went into TP, so we should be expecting something completely new...ish.

3 - Tingle Tuner getting an upgrade.

4 - Possibly slightly faster sailing speeds.

5 - Not happening, but I would love at least half of those grape sized islands to get bigger with something to actually explore.

6 - Triforce pieces gathered in a much more fun less tedious way.

ah Tingle Tuner...  I hope that is an option for the Gamepad so you can play with others.

The screens look kinda disappointing at the moment. I am sure it will be better by release though.
The main thing they need to do is add in the dropped content. At least add in a temple for the third jewel/spiritual stone thing.

Almost everyone has been asking for HD Wind Waker (the much superior game in every way).

When I heard this, I was ecstatic.  I love this game and the visuals have me saying they are really doing a proper HD upgrade.  I have a feeling I will have a Wii U before this year is done now.

If you're asking to repurchase a game you already own I'm sure Nintendo is all too willing to accomodate that.

Sorry... as someone thrilled for WWHD... MM>WW.

While I'd love an upgraded MM, it's a very story-driven game.  Wind Waker is more visual (Remember how they made a big deal about Link's expressions?), so a visual upgrade for it will enhance the game even more.  If they address some of the issues (Which I fully expect them not to), then all the better.  Even though it only has four "proper" dungeons, MM always felt complete - WW always seemed to have something missing.

Are those dungeons everyone is referring to the ones you can play with an action replay? I remember playing one with piggies in it. Though, it wasn't much of what you'd call a playable dungeon.

But I think just making the world smaller would fix a lot of the problems people seem to have had with the game. That's what I'd like.

Random thought: If I had the time and the set-up, I'd love to hook up two TV's side by side and play through both Original WW and WWHD with a friend.

Here's an upgrade for the obsessive compulsives among us:

Eliminate the photo limit/figurine waiting period, while providing a way to obtain photographs of one-time-only or disappeared characters.

Somewhat slow sailing was how Nintendo masked their dynamic loading of the island as you come close to it.

Maybe it will be reworked a bit to add more stuff to the ocean.

But they said it's this Fall and i don't really think they will have time to add much content to it.

Oh sure. Nintendo shows a few images of a cell shaded Zelda now but just wait. When the game gets released, the graphics will have suddenly changed to a realistic looking Zelda and the internet will be in an uproar again.

You know what I find funny? When I saw the Nintendo Direct video for the first time, when they only showed stills of the island (wow I can't believe I don't remember the name.. Windfall?) at first, I kept thinking "wait.. are these just concept images of how they want the game to look? I wasn't seeing gameplay so I started to question just how far into development the remake is; it's so easy to come up with bullshots you know?

If it weren't for that tiny clip of Link and Tetra, I'd say this troll is possible. **** i wish it were true..

If Nintendo had a sense of humour they would do this on April 1st.  Another funny approach would be to do that and then after all the gnashing of teeth they reveal that it's actually the first screenshot of the new Wii U Zelda.

I'd actually be a neat idea to remake all the classic games in the Wind Waker style. That way they can look great forever.

Wind Waker is honestly the game that needed it the least.

I wouldn't mind Nintendo remaking A Link to the Past with the Wind Waker art style, but I would prefer Link remain completely silent like he did in the SNES original. I wasn't terribly fond of the yells and grunts added to the GBA port.

That would be a **** load of work.  It isn't like they put a cel-shading filter on and we're ready to go.  So Nintendo should bust their balls with years of work to make remakes of old games?  Dammit, this kind of attitude just ruins things for those of us that want new games.

I imagine a 3D remake of LttP would actually not be that impressive.  It would probably be fun and all but so many Zelda tropes were introduced in that game.  The results would probably feel like a very generic OoT clone.

Frankly LttP just wouldn't work in 3D because the Puzzles and like were made with the top down view in mind.  Now Zelda 2 in 3D would work.

I never had a HD Windwaker on my mind. It just never occurred to me that anything would improve if it were to be made HD. Catering to those that didn't get to play Windwaker the first time round due to the low install base is the right way to go about it though.
