Title: The Zelda bonus Ocarina of Time disk.
Post by: K-Man on May 29, 2003, 03:40:54 AM
Everybody knows the bonus disk that came with Wind Waker when you pre-ordered it. Well, I went in to my local EB and they had run out of them and WW haden't been released yet. So I didn't bother buying the game, I thought I'll wait because I had to save for a holiday. Anyway I went on that holiday last week and seen the bonus disk second hand for $50aus. So I picked it up and I thought...Why, why would anyone get rid of this! I mean, you can't even buy Master Quest over here. Damn I'm lucky!
But fingers crossed, hehe. Maybe when they make the next Zelda on GCN, we'll get a Majora's Mask bonus disk. I wouldn't even care if it has a Master Quest.

You mean it was JUST the bonus disc? I reckon you should keep the disc, since the battery backup in the OoT N64 will conk out (years from now, but anyway), and it would be nice to have an N64 game to keep for life.
And just a little note, your an Aussie, and you don't post in the Aussie thread?

There are only a few N64 games that I would like to see made into bonus disks for Gamecube. Ocarina and Majoras Mask. If they released Majoras Mask I would be very pleased. I would also like to see Mario 64 as a bonus disk for the next Mario game released.

Yeah, it was just the bonus disk, and I will never get rid of it. The person must have been stupid or something!
Another note: Are you an Aussie?

It wasn't second hand, stores are just selling the bonus disc as a "preowned" game for $50.

I would be happy if they released Majora's Mask with the next Zelda. Mainly because I never had the N64 Zeldas. I borrowed them of friends but never finished them with the "I'll go and buy it next week." in the back of my mind. However, I was never bothered to go and buy them, hehe. Sorry Nintendo.

Man, Majora's Mask was pretty satisfying to finish. It reminds me a lot of (for people who have finished Wind Waker and Majora's Mask ONLY): the final battles with Gannon in WW. The puppets are like the different forms of Majora's Mask for the final boss. The mask battle was really good. It was coulourful in that dark, insane, psychedelic sorta way. I enjoyed it heaps.

You know, people like to talk about the batteries conking out in thier cartridge games. It's funny when you apply that to the N64 games, which don't NEED a battery. They use a small amount of NVRAM to store the data. You'd have to short circuit the cart to lose the data.
As for the sold NES and SNES carts ... my original Legend of Zelda game still has a working battery.

man $50 big ones for OT/MQ?! How much is that in USA dollars? They're selling it here in the USA used for $19.99 I got so lucky myself... I didn't preorder and I went to stores about a week after WW came out here, I went to six stores and noone had the bonus disc until I got to the last store and a disgruntled employee was selling bonus discs of people who preordered it but never came in to get it...LOL, $u|<s for them, woohoo for me..

I buy most of my games at a Vancouver area chain called Willow Video Games. They don't take pre-orders so when they got their shipment of bonus discs they rented out a good deal of them. As a result they have tons of used ones and some brand new ones for sale so if you live in the Vancouver area (this is at the Langley store, it might not be the case in other locations) you can snag an easy bonus disc if you missed out the first time around.

Hmmm... no wonder I have never lost a N64 save... I was actually kind of wondering when I would start to lose my save files. Thanks for the tip Rick. I have lost a few SNES saves, and I have lost TONS of NES saves already.

I still have my LOZ: LOZ2:AOL for my nes and still working battery, and LOZ:Lttp and both Zelda games for N64, and of course WW and the bonus disc for GC. Every system I own still work from the Nes and up+ although the D pad on my SNES has problems as it doesn't "move" as freely as once did. It's like it's hard to make charactes to move the way I would like. I need new controllers

keep them and sell them later! if they are anything like popular/rare snes games then you can make a hell of alot of money, i was looking for A Link To The Past on snes when i came across a copy with box manual and map for $110au! which is about $60-$65 US O_o
also on that subject a copy of Metroid 2 on Gameboy no box or manual for $41, and who ever said games arn't an investment

I almost had an extra, but I needed that $20 more than a second copy. I probably could get a lot of money for it from desperate people though if I had kept it.
