Title: No one else picked up the Adventure Time Game?
Post by: KisakiProject on November 27, 2012, 09:45:33 AM
Hey guys,

sad to see no discussion of this title yet?

I picked up the 3DS collector's edition.  The game is really fun.  It is exactly like Zelda 2!  I loved the exploration without hand-holding.  Granted the combat is easy (the game is for kids).  Overall it's just a good Zelda knock off with a great property attached to it.  If you like the show & Zelda you really outta get this.  It's a bit short.  Took me 5 1/2 hours on my first run through.  Though I need to go back and collect everything also there is a NG+ 2nd quest.

I really recommend this.  Did anyone else get it yet?

In the US, it was on sale for $20 over Thanksgiving. Seemed like a great deal for interested parties...

I've never seen the show, and wonder if it's still worth grabbing. The humor looks appealing, but would the game lose a lot if you aren't already familiar with Adventure Time?

The characters really aren't that developed so I think you have to have seen at least a bit of the show to get it.

^That's why I had no interest in the game. I don't have a desire watching the show. Plus it's on when I have class.

I've beaten the game and done everything and played through NG+.  It's really fun.  Hope that some @ NWR is reviewing it.

Nintendo should just buy WayForward and have them do retro re-imaginings of their classic franchises on eSHOP.

I played the demo and you're right, it is exactly like Zelda II. It seemed fun but I've never even heard of this show outside of the game so have no connection to the characters. I did consider buying but heck, I have Zelda II already on my 3DS so if I get the itch, I can play that.

Hm.  If anyone can hook me up with a copy of the collector's edition for retail +shipping, let me know. :D

"Easy Zelda II" kind of killed much of the interest for me.

Great game but I would only recommend it to fans of the TV show. I love the show and I really enjoyed the game. It's terribly short (I think I beat it in about 4 hours or so) but it's really fun the whole way through. It is also easy, but that didn't bother me. The only real "problem" with the game is that inventory management is a pain. It's overly complicated and the interface for it is not well refined.

I'd pick it up if it ever comes to Europe. Big fan of Adventure Time and would love the collectors edition to be added to my 3DS collection!

I would if i could.

Hopefully a game for superior cartoon (Regular Show game was announced a few months back) will make it to PAL.

And they announced a new AT game made by WayForward (multiplatform).

And still no news on who's making RS game...

IGN and Siliconera both say WayForward is doing that too (and not just announced today, they announced it the same day as your post).
