Nintendo World Report helped to kill Nintendo Power. Dirty Internet.

Sad news, had a lot of good times with the early days of that magazine. It had a cool 90s arts n craftsy aesthetic, mixed in with some Seattle 'zine style. And of course the comics.
This is a piece I made from the second Star Fox run:

I'm a bit surprised this didn't happen sooner. I can't really say I'm sad about it since I stopped subscribing years ago, but the magazine was definitely fun to have in the 90's and early 2000's.

I wish I have every volume of this magazine. It'd be awesome.

It wasn't possible for them to go full digital? That sucks. Best of luck to everyone that works to publish Nintendo Power.

You're part of the problem. I re-subscribed. Lousy kids with their lousy iPads and tablets. Oooooooooo. I need it digital. Real paper isn't cool. If I can't download it, I don't want it.
Sadly, this magazine is still one of the prime ways I get a lot of my gaming information and stay up to date. Things just seem to stick into my head more when I actually sat down and read things from the articles instead of just glancing over a few articles here and there over the web.

Nintendo World Report should pick up the reigns and start their own magazine. If you need money to get it started, I hear there's this thing called Kickstarter...

This sucks because I too resubbed a couple months ago. I... I like physical media... *sniff*

I like physical media too and I think a lack of it will lead to problems in the future.

If you think about it, this is sorta like the death of Cartridge based gaming when Nintendo switched to optical media with the Gamecube. Cartridges went the way of the Dodo, and now gaming magazines are as well. It is a sad thing.

Eh kind of sad but nintendo power failed to stay relevant by having a digital presences in magazine or website form. Videogames especially have this problem if you aren't a feature heavy publication like edge or game informer.
personally all the magazines I read are digital even the ones that would benefit more from print like GQ or details. Only get two magazines in print still and would grab the odd np issue when it had a cool cover story.
Would have been cool if nintendo would have took over the magazine and had made it similar to the touchpad pivot magazine.

I really wish they would release all the comics as a collection. I know they did some and I totally missed them.

Hey, don't look at me, I don't have a tablet. I stopped subscribing because I didn't think the magazine was very good anymore. If NWR came in magazine form, I'd definitely go for that. Though, I'm not sure how the forums would work...

The magazine equivalent of a forum is the letters section where readers have their comments/questions/etc. posted and ridiculed by the staff. So its sorta like the NWR forums, except in dead tree format.

I feel like we do a better job of ridiculing your opinions than Nintendo Power ever could.

Neither Official Xbox Magazine or PlayStation: The Official Magazine have online versions, yet both of those magazines are doing well.
Official Xbox Magazine is a pretty well-respected mag among the Xbox community.
Personally, I can't stand the design of PlayStation: The Official Magazine. The layout and design look very ugly to me. I miss the old PSM.

I predict Uncle Bob's will to live will be restored once more Skylander merchandise is released.

Actually, OXM does: http://www.oxmonline.com/ It's a pretty full featured site.

It is kinda sad. I will admit I'm part of the problem. I haven't read or subscribed since about 2001 ish. Recently a few months ago I thought about buying a subscription just for kicks. Guess that won't be happening. Still sad to see it go. I remember enjoying the magazine so much as a kid and then later even in my teens.
