Title: Wii Remote Plus has a defective motion sensor?
Post by: tendoboy1984 on June 09, 2012, 12:42:43 AM
I just bought a new Wii Remote Plus. While I was playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii, sometimes Mario would do his little spin move while I wasn't even shaking the controller.
It's not a huge problem, but I don't want to end up running into an enemy because the controller misjudged what I was doing. The point is, can a Wii Remote Plus have a defective motion sensor?
I tried using my other Wii Remote Plus and it doesn't have the over-sensitive motion problem.

It's possible. I had a M+ die on me when I was playing Skyward Sword.
If you just bought it then just go and trade it for another one. Hopefully it works.

I found out the problem. When I press Up on the D-pad right after doing a ground pound, Mario does his little spin jump, regardless of whether I'm shaking the controller. Is that a design flaw of the game, or is my controller messed up?

Welcome to the hit or miss world of motion (waggle) gaming.

If the Mario problem doesn't occur when you do the same thing with your other controller I figure it's a controller problem. If it was the game it wouldn't matter which controller you used, the same thing would happen every time.
