Title: Rovio's Angry Birds Still Coming to 3DS
Post by: NWR_pap64 on March 12, 2012, 09:15:43 AM

Despite the delay, the hit game is still arriving on Nintendo's 3DS.

Rovio's hit mobile game Angry Birds is still being planned for release on the 3DS, chief marketing office Peter Vesterbacka recently confirmed to Joystiq at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive festival, held in Austin, Texas.

Despite the game being available on nearly all major mobile systems, including iOS and Android, Rovio has yet to release the game on any handhelds or consoles.

"As always, we have limited resources, so we can only do iOS, Android, PC and Mac for the launch, but the other platforms will follow shortly after," Vesterbacka mentioned to Joystiq.

Rovio recently announced a sequel, Angry Birds in Space, which will follow the same release pattern as its predecessor.

If it was free like on Android, or 99cents like on the Apple App store (neither of which will it be) I still wouldn't get it!

I hate this game. I can't say more about it. :(

I’ve never played Angry Birds, so I don’t have anything against the franchise. But, for some reason I just feel this game is awkward on the eShop. It’ll make money, but I don’t think it will convince someone to purchase a 3DS.

I think Angry Birds' art style would look really cool in 3D (hey, what doesn't). If it's a low price, I might think about grabbing it.

Actually if it was Angry Birds in Space I would care.  The videos for that look to take an addicting style of gameplay, and really change it up.  It looks like Angry Birds meets Mario Galaxy in a very cool way.

But if it is normal Angry Birds...then I am not interested...though I guess some people might be if they managed to get the 3D right, and included all the levels from Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio into one package.  Then the game might be worth a low $19.99 price range.

Five hundred and ninety nine US$ is my prediction.

I'm a staunch defender of iOS gaming, and would argue there are a lot of really good games on the App Store (mixed in with about 100 times as many that are pure garbage), but Angry Birds isn't one of them. I don't understand how it's as popular as it is, and there are dozens, if not hundreds of far superior iOS games. I am not interested in this at all.

Angry Birds is one of the best iOS games, so I am surprised it's not on the eShop yet. I don't plan to buy it because I already own the iPad version, though I would consider the upcoming space sequel if it was $1.99 or maybe $2.99

It's an addicting game, I really don't understand the hate for it.

Actually, I hated.  Hated Angry Birds when I first played it.  It was annoying. Then I played it on the iPad...it was a little better.  My wife liked it so I began to play it more.  The physics are not perfect, in fact they are wonky.  However, once you get the hang of it...it is a nice perfect pick up and play game.  You can play for as little as 2 minutes and accomplish something or much longer.

However, I will admit the game needs more depth...which is why Angry Birds in Space actually looks amazing...it isn't the same old thing...they really took the basic core element of the game, and tweaked it to something new.  I think it will be really awesome.

Is it one of the best iOS games?  Probably not.  Is it a good puzzle game yeah.

I figured people hated the asinine comments from their executives and their franchise milking rather than the game itself.

I have never had an interest in getting this game, (if it does good on the 3DS the cool, if not then oh well). But either way I'm not gonna get it.
