Title: Muammar Gaddafi is dead

There was a thread when Bin Laden died and when Steve Jobs died so I just thought this should be mentioned also. Apparently he was killed in a gunfight by rebels as they closed in on him at his hometown of Sirte in Libya, which was also the last city he had control over.

The only thing I'm not sure of is if he died from wounds before he was captured or after he was captured. If it was after he was captured then the rebels basically murdered him, which is not surprising, but that means he will never stand trial and in a way I guess it makes him a martyr sort of to anyone who might sympathize with him.

I saw the picture.
He was bloodied up. They say he was shot in the legs and in the head.
Not 100% confirmed, but he looked dead to me.

I'm not glad he's dead. Just like Bin Laden, death is death. If it means Libyans can stop fighting each other, then I am happy for them. If it means Libyans can now move on and create a more peaceful, democratic country, then I am happy for them.
I wonder what effect this will have on Syria, which continues to slaughter their own people?

The latest news is that after he was captured, one of the rebel soldier tried to sodomize Gadhafi with a knife or stick.
I am not sad he is dead, so I don't care how he died.

First of all, **** you guys for bringing that into this thread. Second, just because you don't agree with peoples' perceptions doesn't mean they're not objective, if it's even possible to be objective in those areas.

I went as him for halloween. I had my arab robe on and two silk sashes that crossed my body from my right shoulder to my waist. I wore a red Beret and thick white shades. Underneath my shades was a bullet wound. Needless to say, it was badass. But what really set it off....the fact that I can speak arabic!
