Title: Star Fox 64 3D Release Moved Up

Fox and crew will invade the 3DS a couple days earlier than expected.

Star Fox 64 3D has a new September 9, 2011 release date.

Previously, the title was set to be released on September 11, 2011. No details were given as to why the game's release was moved up.

Alongside the new release date, Nintendo released a new trailer for the game, which highlights the graphically updated levels as well as re-recorded character dialogue.

Star Fox 64 3D will also be making an appearance as a playable demo at this year's Comic-Con.

Maybe they realized that a game where you can crash into a building on the first stage is not a good idea on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Of course that's why they're doing it. They didn't come out and say that, though, and our journalistic integrity prevents us from speculation in news stories, no matter how obviously true it is.

Friday seems like a strange day though. Why not move it to the following Monday or Tuesday, or to another Sunday?

So instead of 9-11-11, it's now 9-9-11. Pick any two days and they pick those two? What's next, it moved to 9/11/01?

As long as I can move the 64 logo around with the circle pad like the good 'ole days, I'm good.

It's very unusual for Nintendo to release a game on any day of the week other than Sunday. The 9/11 anniversary is almost certainly the reason.
