Title: Which version of Pokémon games do you get?

With the release of Pokémon Black and White, it has me wondering, what reasoning do people use to decide which version to get?

I usually go with whatever pokemon the verson has that I like. Way back during 1st gen since I really didn't know that many of the pokemon I went with whatever box art I liked better. Which was Blue.

Classic Poke'mon. Just the basic catch 'em and fight 'em Poke'mon games. I don't care about the extra crap thrown in the newer games.

I bought White because everybody who answered my question in the thread and on Twitter was getting Black.

I bought white because Insanolord bought white.
Or I saw Black was the more popular version on GameFAQs. Similar reasons.

I'm getting whatever version my younger brother doesn't want as much, since he bought both versions. ;)

I haven't bought a Pokemon game since the first one came out on NDS, would it be worth buying the newest version?

When it came to Diamond and Pearl it came down to which "star" Pokemon I liked the most. I ended up getting Pearl. Before that (the last Pokemon game I played before that being the originals) it came down to color. I got Red because I knew a friend already had Blue and I happen to like Red more. Then I got Yellow when it came out.

No real reason. I have gotten Red, Silver, Ruby, Diamond (I also later got Blue, Yellow, Gold, and SoulSilver).

I went with White for no real reason. I liked the cover slightly better than the cover on black. Seems kind of stupid, but that's how I did it.
