It's really a matter of preference.  Here's a link to help if you want it. Link

I don't think you could go wrong with the Logitechs Z-680.  I am going definitly pick some up when I get the casharoonie, which should be soon as they are super inexpensive, probably the least expensive way to get surround sound on the GC.

Check out these reviews, all glowing:

Yo!

I just bought them and they are as good as all the reviews have said.  Supposedly they were designed to be computer speakers but I am using them as a poor man's home theater.  And they work awesome to say the least.

But, the best part is how much fun they are to use with my GameCube, utter sweetness.  It really is the definition of imersive gameplay, sound makes a huge difference.

The only bad thing that I can say about them is that they are too loud, with too much bass; I live in an apartment, eviction could be coming soon.

Go get em tiger.

you should be able to lower the bass on the back of the speaker if I am not mistaken.

You can adjust everything using the control pod or the remote.  Sub, center, front and back, hav'nt found the side balance yet.

buy an av receiver or amplier witch acepte DLP2 ( dolby proligic 2 ) with 5 speaker and a subwoofer , prefer Denon , Matranz , Harman kardon or yamaha
amplifier and for the speaker you buy all what you whant but INFINY , JBL , BOSE and other are better buch cheapest
an av amplifier with 5 speaker or 6 , and a subwoofer cost 600 euros a least  = 600 $, don't buy thx certified or 7.1 amplifier they are very cheap
an amplifier 5*50w or 6*50w is good for home using . I have a yamaha av receiver RX-V530 5*60wath with infinity speaker and one subwoofer
don't buy poor speaker , or bad av receiver
on gamecube there is only 10 or 20 games who have DPL2 sound and only a little who have a very good suround sound effect like eternal derkness , starwars
turok evolution.

bash. If you want to get into spending tons of money then of course he would want Dolby Digital EX and all THX certified components, but thats not neccisary.

The fact is that what he has right now is fine.

and as for power 500 Watts a channel for me. heh.

There's easily forty games which support Pro Logic II. At least a third are first party games.

manunited4eva22: Five hundred watts?! Impressive. What receiver and speakers do you have? i've only got 100/channel myself, but that's fine for my tiny 10'x10' room.

It's actually not the greatest receiver in the world. Its a Panasonic something something, but I am running 500 watt amps on each channel. Speakers are Polk and Yamaha.
