DBZ is overrated. All the games were flops except to DBZ fanboys. People should like other animes.
PLZ don't flame about another one of those OPINION issues. *runs, trips, dies*

I would buy it if it added a playable Yajirobe.
"My yam power shall defeat you!"

I'd like some effort to be put into it. Doubt it'll happen though.

Why is it when someone mentions DBZ someone always has to come in and flame it and tell everyone to start liking other things?

Actually, I have no idea if this is right (don't hold me to it), but my friend told me the other day that it would have a different set up, like adventure mode or something like that.

True that most of the games were really bad, but thats cuase Bandai was behind the wheel making them. Bodoukai is actually a decent game and i can't wait to play it on my cube and not have to play it on my friends PS2. And about people liking other animes, well they do. I seriously don't understand why some people dislike DBZ so much. The reason so many people mention it is cuase  1) how many other animes can say they have nearly 300 episodes? 2) How many have been airing in some way, shape or form for 10 (maybe more years)? DBZ is what most people started on. If it wasn't Robotech, it was DBZ.

This sounds like flame but its not meant to be one, I'm just tired of reading comments like "People should like other anime" and "Hopefully they'll remove the dbz characters. and add a good game". I'm personally getting tired of the same old Mario and Zelda, and i didn't really like sunshine, but i'm not saying get rid of mario and make the game better or maybe Ganon should stay dead or trapped and get someone else to be the bad guy.

New characters would be awesome, but I don't think that anything new will be added to the port. It would make too many people that like DBZ and don't have the GCN mad.

Infogrames did it with the Godzilla game being ported to the Xbox, even after they said they wouldn't port the game. So I figure they will probably do it with the DBZ one to the Cube... not that I am interested in DBZ unfortently.

BoB007- "Kennyb27, im 50.01% sure your right. I read somewher ( pretty sure it was here ) that PS2 was getting a fighting type game like mortal kombat and GC was getting a adventure type .. is there someone that can back me up on this ?"

Yeah, it was in GamePro. They had an interview with some dude at Infogrames that said that. The thing is, Budokai (which will most likely be a straight port) has already announced as coming out in August and they haven't said anything about any other DBZ games. But they've already announced a sequel to Budokai I think, unless I'm tripping.
Problem is, Budokai isn't going to sell near as much as it did on the PS2. Part of the reason why is because, obviously, GCN doesn't have as high a userbase but it's also because it's a port of a older game and if you have a PS2 and a GCN then you already have the game. I just don't want less than expected sales for this game to spoil Infogrames on GCN. Companies have already fallen into that trap when they don't realize that months-old ports won't sell as well as new games. What a concept, huh?

If you dont like DBZ, then dont post in this thread. Its as simple as that. By doing what your doing your going to cause a flame war and this thread is going to get locked.

"300 episodes isn't something to brag about  It just means that they carried the series on WAAYYY too long."

You're just as bad as the fanboys. You just come in bash even though the topic has nothing to do with your opinion on the series.

What about the Simpsons? Over 300 episodes and still hilarious.

Really? I thought the simpsons had more than that by now. It's been over 10yrs now. Fox must really treasure it.

Actually the Dragonball series is over 500 episodes long DB/DBZ/DBGT

But I don't really Consider GT much part of the series, Since Akira Toriyama didn't have any real involvment in GT.

well yeah i just watched the 300th and 301st episode last night so simpsons is a little beyond 300 episodes (aussies get tv shows later than us/canada, just like games :\)

I don't know what yall said....

They should make it so when you power up, the ground cracks and junk. Also, when you turn to your Supreme level (i.e. Super Sayian) then there should be a huge explosion of energy power up scene (not cut scene) where the person acts as if they are transforming for the first time.

Also special attacks shouldn't suck ass and look like smoke when shot. and there should be a better combo/fighting system.

Only thing I'm very please with is the models......they look exactly like the cartoon, especially when your playing story mode and you see something happen exactly like the show (well duh).

The only reason I wouuld ever think of buying it for GC is if the added JUMPING. jesus christ how hard is it to program a D A M N jump!?!?!?

I don't care how long a series is if it's good.  But that isn't the case with DBZ. I think DBZ could have been AT LEAST 100 episodes shorter. The Simpsons is an awesome show.

"The only reason I wouuld ever think of buying it for GC is if the added JUMPING. jesus christ how hard is it to program a D A M N jump!?!?!?"

They couldn't jump? A game based on characters who can fly didn't add jumping? I'm suddenly not so optimistic about this game.

"I don't care how long a series is if it's good. But that isn't the case with DBZ. I think DBZ could have been AT LEAST 100 episodes shorter. The Simpsons is an awesome show."

This thread has nothing to do with whether or not you like DBZ in general. So what say you quit trolling?

I was parading through the release dates section and found the article for DBZ Budokai. Then after clicking on it i found a news article from May 20th 2001 stating how infogrames wanted to release DBZ games ( quote how i said games ) on both the GBA and GC. Well we got The Legacy of Goku and are going to get the sequel. SO WHERE ARE THESE GAMES WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GET FOR THE GC >_<

Well for anyone that really cares... They are making a DBZ Budokai 2 for PS2 coming out in December including the characters in the Buu Saga plus other fancy features. And for those of you who think that jumping is going to be added to the GC version of Budokai keep dreaming. In the article where DBZ Budokai 2 was announced, they asked the creators why they didnt add jumping and or ducking to the game(s), They responded with ( and this is a semi-direct quote ) " when did Dragon Ball Z characters ever duck in the anime series?" for more info go here.

Ya I saw that video, I geuss they realized to fully use cel-shading. It looks good, but I hope they fix it, the combat engine anyway.

Also they should add this.....
1. When you change into your ultimate form (like SuperSayian), they should have a little real-time cutscene to emphisize the change. The ground should crack and fly up, the energy should flow like waves out of his body, then he should start yelling then finally change.

2. BETTER COMBO SYSTEM!

3. better graphics for wave attacks (it shouldn't look like smoke) and you should be able to do them with out having to press a combo first

4. to hell with this game, it needs to be re-done entirely
