Post by: ShyGuy on January 08, 2011, 12:16:44 AM
I got some for Christmas and we are figuring out how to play. Any tips?

Only buy the ones you think are cool-looking. Since none of the sets have specific rulesets (I think...) you can have Cthulhu fight Master Chief if you want (seriously).

I never was that interested in HeroClix, mainly because I don't know anybody else interested in playing it with me.

HeroClix always struck me as a small step up from HeroScape. They're not quite as kiddie and some of the miniatures themselves are neat looking. Sadly, the rules are pretty bad as far as wargaming goes. You'd be better off with a skirmish game like Mordhiem or Warlord if you really want to play something. Furthermore, unless you only want to collect comic book figures, I'd go for Reaper miniatures (http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures) over HeroClix any day.

I'm really only interested in the Batman ones, me and my cousin went shopping on Saturday and found some figures and watched a heroclix tournament. There is a lot of strategy to the game.
