I've never seen that happen before

I have seen someone get banned for the same type of comment. Basically this person said "How is this news?" Which in a roundabout way is what DAaaMan64 said.

Kotaku is still a blog, so it's all news, or rather you shouldn't read the site for news because it's a blog.

They don't like you mocking them.

LOL. On youtube I noticed something similarly funny like they saw. It had an option to 'learn more' about a special upload feature and the compress option was 'learn less'. I thought that was humorous.

I didn't even know you could get an account for Kotaku.

Kotaku is still a blog, so it's all news, or rather you shouldn't read the site for news because it's a blog.

Yet they get free video game swag and somehow get invited to E3 and other events, yet never have to review stuff.

Sites like Kotaku and NeoGAF are jokes, they will ban people for any kind of criticism of the site. NWR wouldn't ban somebody for making a comment like that. Kotaku also will post rumors and act like they are true. It's even easier on message boards, go to PlayStation fanboy forums and say that Wii or Xbox 360 are your favorite systems and watch how fast you get banned.

ATTN: Kotaku, as well as any Gawker sites (Lifehacker, Valleywag, et al) have had their database breached. There's a torrent with something like 1.3 million unencrypted passwords.

Here's how to check:
 1. http://pajhome.org.uk/crypt/md5/ (http://pajhome.org.uk/crypt/md5/)
 2. Enter your email address under "Input", and click on "MD5". Copy the "Result".
 3. http://www.google.com/fusiontables/D...?dsrcid=350662 (http://www.google.com/fusiontables/DataSource?dsrcid=350662)
 4. Click on "Show Options" and change the filter to "MD5". Paste the copied "Result" and see if it shows up on search. If it does then your password has been compromised and sooner or later will be hacked if they feel like it

I've spent half the morning changing passwords and trying to remember all the sites I use that e-mail/password combination.  Pisses me off.

The good news is I'm finally setting up unique passwords for every site I frequent.  Talk about a pain in the ass.

I'm glad I never signed up for that site.

I'd say this makes me wish I never signed up for that site... but the hacking actually has nothing to do with my general disdain for Kotaku.
