Nintendo has released a new Metroid trailer on the game's Japanese website. It features a rundown of the game's characters, as Samus docks aboard a space station and runs into some old friends. The soldiers that she talks to are, in the order of their introduction:
Samus and the soldiers chat for a while, but then come under attack by various alien creatures. They eliminate the threat, at which point the trailer cuts to gameplay.The gameplay footage shows Samus blasting monsters, scaling vertical shafts by jumping from wall to wall, and pulling off some sweet finishing moves on a pesky alien.
It also shows off the various beams that Samus has at her disposal, including the Normal Beam, Ice Beam, Wave Beam, Diffusion Beam, and Grapple Beam.
Metroid: Other M is scheduled for North American release on August 31.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. I hope her voice is changed before it's released stateside. The moaning and grunting doesn't sound good in Japanese.
