Title: Nintendo 3DS Launch Expected Next Year

Reggie speaks about the 3DS, stating that the system will not be available this year.

While on the Jimmy Fallon television show last night, Reggie Fils-Aimes stated that the Nintendo 3DS will not be available in North America this year. Instead it will launch in 2011.

It is unknown if Reggie was just referring to only North America. Judging by how Nintendo has been releasing its handhelds lately, it is likely that a European launch will be close to the North American debut. As for Japan, gamers will have to wait until Nintendo confirms a specific date.

This was pretty obvious before he confirmed it. The DS is selling too well to even think about taking attention away from it this Christmas season.

After watching the video, I think that is a good call. Reggie was distracted with playing Donkey Kong when he answered, so maybe he said something he didn't mean or didn't full say what he meant.

While Reggie is probably right, I remain in the group of fanciful dreamers who hope for a November 2010 3DS launch.
I'll put the nail in my coffin if and only if Nintendo sends out a press release saying "Yo, it ain't coming out this year, jackass."

Even still, we're waiting for a comment from Nintendo regarding this comment/off-hand remark.

This sentence seems weird to me, isn't 2011 next year?

I'm still rooting/begging/hoping for a November THIS year launch...
