Hashimoto said the two games ran into technical problems, and with the advent of the 3DS, Square Enix decided to temporarily pull the plug on development.
As for a 3DS release, Hashimoto laughed and said "no decision has been made."
He went on further: "Rather than creating [Final Fantasy] V or VI for the current DS we want to take a look to see how 3DS does, how it evolves, and then make a decision."
Technical problems my ass, the GBA handled both games fine. I don't mind them moving them to 3DS, but they shouldn't try and claim technical problems as the reason.GBA had a different graphical interface. They were ports of games from the early 90s. This is a complete remake of each of these games. You can't compare a port of a game to the GBA and a remake of a game on the DS, at least technically speaking.
They should be there near launch with FFV and by Summer with FFVI then they can have the Xmas all Sony gamers have been waiting for with the remake FFVII for 3DS for it's 1 year anniversary ;) .
If someone is going to remake 7, I want it on the PS3 in full tens of million dollar budget glory.
I would rather see a fresh Final Fantasy on 3DS. How bad ass would it be if they pulled a Dragon Quest and decided to put Final Fantasy 15 on it?
