I have to agree with the NNNNNOOOO.

At least they're remaking a good game.  Just make it longer, Nintendo.

**** you guys. A port of the best game ever. Holy **** I can imagine it already. It'll be incredible. So will Pilotwings.

It'll all be motion controlled and 3D and fucking amazing and Slippy and Peppy and everyone will be back and Bill and that Kat and everyone and James and Fox and Falco and everyone. And Rob.

Will this version of Star Fox have have a save feature? If its does, I will but this game. If it does not have a save feature, I will stick with the original on VC until the 3DS game's price drops.

The system looks nice, but it seems like Nintendo could have made it so much sexier.

What could they have better because that is what I am thinking? We can always wait until the 3DS Lite. ;D

CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT, STAR FOX!

In all seriousness, online MP would just be icing on a delicious cake.

please please please have rumble support built into the 3ds. i would buy Star Fox 64 on that
( I protested and never got it on VC because of lack of rumble ) .

My memories of that game is directly intertwined with rumble so it won't be the same even if 3d without rumble

I knew they forgot something... While the what they showed isn't the final model, they made no mention of it having rumble, I think they would have announced something like that if it was in there already, hopefully they'll put it in.

I would hope for a few things to make this an instant buy for me.

1) Have the entire multiplayer experience unlocked from the beginning.
2) More levels.  Hey, I know that might be too much to ask, but a few new levels (One for each path would be nice.)
3) Map selection of path.  I know the Nintendo 64 had an awesome branching feature but it was hard to get to the other levels, let us pick our path.
4) Multiplayer single player mode.  Ok, here is the big one.  Make each level have a few multiple paths to take and allow for 4 player single player action.  Have those paths cross and sometimes and require everyone to help each other would be a great experience.
5) More free movement levels.

I'm on the "not buying this great game a second third time unless it includes online multi" train on this one. Online dog-fights would be nice but i've been waiting for co-op multiplayer since, well SF64!

I think Miyamoto in an old Nintendo Power interview said he wanted to have a co-op story mode in Star Fox 64. Maybe now it will finally be realized.

If they were to add online co-op, it would completely and totally justify the remake.

Listening back to the day one E3 podcast, I have finalised my thoughts on this game. **** this game. If they are porting games, why the bloody hell not GC games. It couldn't be too hard to rustle up the old Factor 5 crew to port one of their Star Wars games or remake the original SNES version to something mind blowing.

Add in the fact I never really like this game. **** this.

I wonder if F5 is porting the old Rogue games. That rumored remake collection could have been transferred from Wii to 3DS.

Plus do we know who is making the Pilotwings game? Remember F5 was supposedly working on one of those at some point too.

No remake though, just new F-Zero. F-Zero would probably be insane in 3D.

I would settle for an F-Zero 64 remake.  I don't think they can get better than that game.  It was just about perfect.  Just a few tweaks and it would be.

Wrong. New games only please, or it will start to become a marketing problem, and GX is the best futuristic racer in existence.

With a few tweaks they could probably port GX.

As for remakes vs. new games, when it comes to Star Fox I want both. I want a new, Nintendo-developed game in the series, as well as a 3D remake of 64, the best game in the series.

Anyone notice the huge battle arenas in this remake? I am still bumed its only 4 player local, but the stages are much bigger now, either that or they added more.

I wasn't sure if I was going to get this but I watched the trailer again on the eShop and I think I'm sold. I took a better look at the actual environments. The new trailer shows off the ice planet and water planet levels and they looked amazing. What held me back originally was that I had no attachment to the game since I never played the original unlike Legend of Zelda: OoT. I asked myself should I even buy another remake, especially since it doesn't have online (annoyance about Xenoblade was playing a part as well) but I'm looking at this wrong I feel in the end. It looks like a great game that should have some replayability. Also clearly some effort went into this. So I put in my pre-order.

I did notice something else. During some of the scenes in the trailer the sky in the background looks full. Like other pilots besides you team are fighting out there. Did the N64 version have this in the background?

I haven't seen the trailer in question, but it did in some levels.  Primarily Katina, which is a great big furball with allied ships flying around so you can get yelled at for shooting them.  That's probably what you saw.  Sector Y to a lesser extent, which shows a lot of shooting during the intro, but my memory's too fuzzy to say whether it played a part during the action.  Also, some minor characters could show up to help out in later stages, and the all-range mode bits in general let you see your wingmen in action.

I just got a e-mail from Nintendo. They are having a contest on Facebook where you can win a chance to fly in a real light attack fighter from Air Combat USA and engage in Tactical Fighting Maneuvers (according to Air Combat USA's site, this package tends to cost about $1,395 per person). The rules state that you have to be at least 14 years old, under 6'6" tall, and weigh less than 250 pounds. It appears to be open to US and Canada (excluding Quebec). http://apps.facebook.com/flylikefox/ (http://apps.facebook.com/flylikefox/)

This game is really pretty. Why is it better looking than everything on Wii? Except for galaxy of course.

Can someone tell me what the differences are between the N64 mode and new Gyro mode? Are enemies placed slightly differently or anything like that?

Back during the N64 days all I had was Nintendo Power to compare my scores with. And there was one guy who had insane scores that I could just not match up to. Has anyone gotten at least 190 on Corneria yet?

So I'm pretty bumed that this game was called Star Fox 64 3D, instead of Lylat Wars 3D, but otherwise this is a great remake. It looks beautiful, first and foremost and the 3D is probably the best on the system. Gameplay is still tight, and the increased draw distance is a godsend.

Sure, it would have been nice for online multiplayer. And it would have been nice to have Command like touch controls as an option too, but it's still a great package as it is.

Also what they did with the eco-cases, or whatever, was cool too. Made me not so angry about it.

Rented on GameFly, glad cause I'm not buying it.

No online multi (The worst game in the series already had this feature.... (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=27074.0)) and they re-recorded half of the voice acting and some of the best lines are now worse. (ouch, my child hood  :'( ) I now have to watch 2 credits roll just to see my favorite high score screen ever. (The invoice they send to StarFox Team)  Plus, I've honestly played the original 200x times.

At least they improved the graphics, they look great. Also, they improved the high score screen too:

I get to place the stamp on the invoice at the end.

...and my favorite line

"Only I have the brains to rule Lylat."

sounds good.

sooo... Ef this game.

What I read.
Love this game but, I already have it.
That being said it is prettier but, not worth it because the new content isn't worth the entry price.

I got the game this sunday, and i have to say nintendo did a good job remaking the game, although its not worth forty dollars, its basically the same game with improved graphics, i quickly finish the first run since its not a long game, although i still have to beat the other routes. Its hard for me to recommend the game due to the steep price, but if you are a die hard starfox fan, you will probably enjoy it.
