The game's third universe, in addition to Amazing and Noir, will be the futuristic 2099 one.

Activision confirmed that the third universe featured in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will be the Spider-Man 2099 universe.

So far, two other universes have been announced, the classic Amazing Spider-Man universe, featuring Kraven the Hunter as the main boss, and the Noir Spider-Man universe, which will feature Hammerhead and the Goblin as bosses. The 2099 universe will feature a robotic Hobgoblin as the main boss.

The character of Spider-Man 2099 originated in 1992 as a possible future for the current universe. The series last for 46 issues until it was canceled in 1996. The series, which was part of a universe that featured a variety of futuristic Marvel characters, has been revisited in the comics numerous times since, but this is the first time Spider-Man 2099 will show up in a video game.

The fourth and final dimension will be revealed sometime soon, most likely around the San Diego Comic-Con. The latest trailer, which revealed the 2099 universe, hints at the last one, which looks like it could involve symbiotes or zombies.

Spiderman 2099 will be a great addition and should be pretty special.  Which makes me wonder what the 4th dimension will be.  I wonder if it will be some strange dimension where everything is blending together, and becoming corrupted?

I hope they do a great job with this so we can get an entire game based on Spider-Man 2099, my favorite comic book of all time.

Spiderman 2099 is your favorite? What a unique choice.

the Outfit was cool, but the 2099 universe was weak overall. Ravage, Punisher-lite. My favorite was Dr. Doom, because he was still Dr. Doom.

The only other 2099 comic I read was X-Men, which was just okay. But Spidey 2099 is awesome in every way. It also has an obscure legacy in Sam Raimi's movies, which incorporated the idea of biological web spinners in the hero's forearms. The ensuing jokes were lifted wholesale from early issues of Spidey 2099. The futuristic character was a lot more vicious, though. He drew blood with the talons on his fingers and toes, delivered a paralyzing venom through his fangs, and famously allowed a villain to die in an early issue. He was also a little more grounded in reality, as "magical" powers like Spider-Sense and wall-clinging were replaced with sharp eyesight and the aforementioned talons, respectively. And Spidey 2099 isn't just a prankster like Peter Parker -- Miguel O'Hara is an outright asshole (with a heart of gold)... not unlike Dr. House.

The name Miguel O'Hara will never stop being funny to me.

Anyway, it's cool that they're featuring some 2099 stuff, but I'm playing this for the Spider-Man Noir sections. The Noir-verse Spider-Man is sooooo good.

EDIT: Yeah, the last universe is gonna be Marvel Zombies. You can pretty much count on it.

I prefer the Amazing Spider-Man cel-shaded dimension myself. It gives a very comic boock and animated series feel to the franchise. Almost as if you are playing inside a comic book game. I am looking forward to this game.

The name Miguel O'Hara will never stop being funny to me.

Why? He's half-Mexican, half-Irish, half-spider.

It's just so obviously meant to tell you that he's biracial by giving him a mash-up name. As someone who actually is biracial, that **** cracks me up. The randomness of it also kind of reminds me of Gary Oldman's character from Fifth Element, Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg, which makes me laugh again.

I think the implication is that a hundred years in the future, biracial is the norm. Kind of like the Southpark Goobacks, "Dey took our Jarbs!"

Karl is German
and Castaneda is Hispanic, right?
