Title: Guitar Hero is such a rip-off...

So, I know it's came up many, many times before about how Guitar Hero is a rip-off of this game or that game, and how said game is just a rip off of another game...
But, is it possible, I've found the grand-daddy of all music-rhythm video games?

Melody Blaster - the only title released for the Music Synthesizer add-on for the Entertainment Computer System add-on for the Mattel Intellivision. Released in 1983, this game came out 16 years before Guitar Freaks, 15 years before the first Dance, Dance Revolution game, 14 years before the first Bemani game, 13 years before Parappa the Rapper 12 years before Harminox ever existed, and four years before Bandai's Dance Aerobics.
What an odd piece of history here...

There was a guitar game on the atari or something that played a lot like Guitar Hero. I can't find the videos anymore though...

OMG Piano Hero..... Too hard for even the hardcore. You will actually have to learn to play the instrument.... that will never catch on.
I just find it funny how things appear new they really aren't in terms of ideas.
But that's the thing about ideas. If you've thought of it just now, someone else probably thought of way before you.
But it's not always about who came up with it first, but who can execute it better. And Piano Hero wouldn't work today for most people for the reason I stated above.

I don't think its a rip-off to pick up an idea that has been abandoned for 14 years and then breathe new life into it. If there were a game that came out a year or two before and then you copy it then yeah, that's ripping it off, but not when its been long abandoned.

Did it include an instrument peripheral? I know there was a piano game for the NES that came with a piano, I think it was Miracle Piano or something.
