Title: Problem with Nunchuk connector
Post by: Mop it up on March 27, 2010, 01:54:08 PM
All right, so I'm having a weird little problem with one of my Wii Remotes. Sometimes, when a Nunchuk is connected, it will register as if it became unplugged. This is pretty annoying, because most games have a little message which pops up when the Nunchuk becomes unplugged, and the ones that don't usually have weird things happen with the analogue stick movement. Usually all it takes to get it to register again is a little wiggle of the plug. This happens with any Nunchuk, and only with the one Wiimote, so the problem must be with the Wiimote.
Has something like this happened to anyone else? Is there anything which can be done about it? I'm guessing there isn't, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Time to go buy that Pink Wiimote that you've been holding out for. It's calling to you.

No, but I had a Wii remote that ate batteries and prevented nearby wiimotes from staying synced.

This might be obvious, but have you tried cleaning the port on the bottom of your Wii remote with alcohol and a Q-tip? It's possible that it's there's just a bit of dirt/grime in there that's messing with the connection. If you have a can of compressed air blow it in there to see if anything (like dust) comes out.

Yeah, I've already tried cleaning it with a cotton swab and surgical spirit. I haven't tried other cleaning methods though, such as compressed air.
Has this problem really not happened to anyone else? T_T

I have a remote where the B trigger gets stuck in the "pressed down" position... but I've yet to have problems w/ the nunchuck.
