The identities of two recent Pokemon silhouettes have been revealed.

With the next era of Pokemon games being released in Japan later this year, it shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise that new Pokemon are starting to be revealed. Pokemon Sunday revealed a silhouette of the first fifth-generation Pokemon over the weekend, saying that its identity would be announced on February 21st.

That didn’t stop CoroCoro magazine from announcing the Pokemon early, though. According to the magazine, the silhouette is of a new Pokemon named Zoroark.  Zoroark plays a vital role in the upcoming Pokemon movie, scheduled for a summer release in Japan.

Zoroark is described as being a “Monster Fox Pokemon”, with the ability to stand on all four legs or its hind legs. Besides this new Pokemon, CoroCoro revealed its pre-evolution, Zoroua, which is the “Evil Fox Pokemon.”

I'm still waiting for a real console-based Pokemon game, with online play. Something like that would even lend itself well to an instance-based MMO... maybe akin to Phantasy Star Online?

I think it would be awesome if you could do it as a closed - open world... that didn't make any sense.  Let me explain myself.

Basically you could consider it guild based.  You use friend codes (or whatever better system Nintendo puts in place on the next system) to create a group of your friends.  The game world will then act like a persistent world for just those friends.

I think that could work really really well.  Obviously, some sacrifices would have to be made as it isn't a true persistant world.  NPCs won't remember what your friends did or anything like that.  But it would awesome none the less.

In fact, that could really be done on the DS, as it could be played online or offline.

That's how I think AC should go. Allow for any number of your friends to come and go from your town and interact with it. All of your towns could be connected persistently so you could travel to each others places. It would be cool to have a Pokemon world where you could all play together persistently like that.

That's pretty well in line with what I was thinking as well. ;)
